Not noticeable imo...Lots of customers use a personal gaming PC and work PC KVM setup. We just released a new USB 3.0 KVM; amzn.to/3LEjjMt Its HDMI 2.0 so it can support high refresh rate resolutions like 1920x1080@240hz or 2560x1440@180hz.

Hi, I have a very unique problem that I desperately trying to solve: I Need a number keypad to connect to 3 laptops simultaneously, do you think there is a solution? I was thinking of just hooking them up via wire and have a usb dongle (3 male to one female), but cant seem to find such a thing... and i dont think a kvm solution will work either, bc it inherently involves a switch button, which is not good for me.

Same keys on 3 laptops at the same time? KVM will switch the Keypad to connect to each computer one by one not connect to all three simultaneously.

Hi, This may be a dumb question but I also have to connect my printer using a yellow ethernet cable. I have it on a usbc adapter I move from laptop to laptop. can that be accomodated by one of the TESmart machines?

Yes you can connect the printer into the USB port of the KVM, it'll be connected like a USB peripheral and switch between the computers.

It is actually ridiculous that in 2020 onwards we have to go to so much trouble to get to different computers to share two screens. Not blaming the video guy, but the tech companies. Farcical.

How about WiFi support? It's not serious to use Ethernet cable nowadays! At least, for most users! As I see it, we need: a proper case, a converter and the video with the instructions of how to make it all work!

Works fine with monitors with PBP, just use the HDMI input of the monitor as one video signal (Connected to KVM). The PBP source would have to be another input (DP, Type C or HDMI).

@@avicotech-us really ? Because I’m currently using a HDMI matrix (2*2) so I output Mac and windows in PBP in my Samsung 4K monitor. Do you really think, this will work if I end up purchasing a kvm switch ? And output the HDMI Samsung to KVM and then use the HDMI matrix ?

Thanks for the video! I have the problem that my Cintiq (monitor + graphics tablet) has DVI. So I used a DP to DVI adapter. But that doesn't work. I have no picture on the monitor. I did a little research and found out that the KVM is not compatible with this connection. 😣 You don't have a tested DP to DVI adapter in your list. Is it generally not possible to connect a KVM DP to DVI? Because I can't change the DVI from the Cintiq. The cable comes directly from the monitor. It is still changeable.

What model KVM do you have? Some adapters don't work well in KVM environments.

@@avicotech-us I have a "VPFCT Displayport KVM Dual Monitor Switch 2x2" (Model: VP-SW223). Text from Amazon: "4K120Hz Displayport KVM Switch 2 PC 2 Monitors 8K60Hz DP1.4 KVM Switches USB 3.0 Dual Monitor for 2 PC/Laptops Share 4 USB3.0 Ports Support Extended & Copy Mode with Desktop Controller and 2 USB" I found a warning on a picture of this product with (HDMI to DP and DP to DVI/VGA cables are not recommended), so it will not work with this KVM. I didn't read all the text and pictures before I bought it. My problem, but I have found a lot of other KVMs with the same warning and only a few without. But my fear is that they just don't do the warning and it's a general problem with all KVM that HDMI to DP and DP to DVI doesn't work?

Yeah since KVMs are receiving video from computers and sending it out to the Monitors the video chips in the KVM need to be able to communicate between the two devices. When adding adapters into the mix it makes the communication even more spotty, its like playing telephone (the children's game) lol. We do have customers that use the Cintiq monitors so I know its possible, send us a message at [email protected]. We'll figure out everything you need to get setup. I tried this with the IP address and it did not work it kept sending me back to the default IP address. when I tried the default ip address, it would not connect to the server. I tried to look for resetting the device and there was no information on this. Is there any way that i can reset the device to the default IP address?

I’m looking for a software that allows me to switch between different opened windows/apps that are currently expanded in certain monitors. For example I have 6 monitors. I want to press F1 to toggle between opened windows/apps in the screen 1 or press F2 to toggle between opened windows/apps in the screen 2, and so on. Maybe there’s is an existing tool for this quick hot key built in windows that I don’t know. Or maybe someone can point me out, many thanks.

I just finished setting it up, and it works great! The only problem is that my new Razer keyboard software no longer recognizes it 😢. The laptops do, and it works great, but not the Razer software. Oh well, I guess. FYI, I have the same exact setup here, except I have 2 PCs, no Macbook. So happy I found this video!

For 2 computers with 2 monitors you should use a dual monitor KVM; amzn.to/4f6CYlY This model has "Hybrid Mode" which allows you to display each computer simultaneously on each monitor. PC 1 or 2 for either Monitor A or B, super flexible.

No this model doesnt do Split screen or PIP mode. Its just for 1 computer at a time. If you have a 2 monitor setup and want Split screen we call it "Mode 2 (each computer on each monitor) then check out this video; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rJx7Z8h6rcC8in0.html (2:00 we go over "Mode 2" ).

Its HDMI 2.0 so any resolution within that limit is accepted (4K60, QHD 144hz, etc.) Not hot all (doesn't even have fans), its cool af just like the music lol

@BuyTesmart i am using a 16port TESMART KVM with PIKVM v4plus and I can see all devices locally but seems only to be able to see windows, "ubuntu GUI" and the pikvm HDMI output 2 however all the intel NUC devices that i have running ubuntu server are not being detected through the PIKVM remotely. keyboard hot keys to switch inputs works like a charm but the mouse and keyboard doesn't control my devices. Any ideas why i am experiencing such behavior with those linux servers? and how can i get my mouse and keyboard to control the connected devices.

Will this work with a Macbook Pro M3 (base chip)? I know this officially only supports 1 monitor, but wondering if the KVM switch enables two. I know you can run 2 with displaylink. Hoping that is the case here.

DisplayLink is the only solution. The KVM doesn't have display link so it cant make the second video feed.

I have a question, can we control apple tv or any other source on multiple LED’s at a time. For example i am watching apple tv in my room and my kids are also watching apple tv from other room, can we see different channels on both screens?

If you only have 1 Apple TV device you will see the same image across any selected TV. If you have more Apple TV units connected as inputs then yes you can have different channels being streamed across different TVs.

I need to use a few laptops (win 11 and Chromebooks) on one laptop (Chromebook), using the one's keyboard and screen for it and the others. Tried using Chrome Remote Desktop between two Chromebooks, but that gives annoyingly blurry text. Besides that, although you can save connection settings for a Windows computer, I see no option to save the connection settings for another Chromebook -- have to enter a 12-digit code each time. My productivity could really get a boost with a suitable solution! As then I could spread a great workload and resource usage over a few laptops while facing just one.

No, docking station is only required if the computer cannot provide 2 video connections. Like a 2020 M1 Mac that cant support dual monitors or some Chromebooks that don't have multiple ports.

1 video connection = 1 monitor only. Or do you mean 1 monitor displaying Mac and the other displaying the other PC? We call this "Mode 2" use the hotkey Scroll Lock+Scroll Lock+3 to get into Mode 2.

Hey, press at the same time both the Windows logo key and the letter R key on your computer's keyboard, then type osk and then click OK. Then the On-Screen Keyboard should appear. Then click on option NumLock at bottom right and check. If it's not there, click on Options near bottom right
