@@aidankateri The bronto doesn’t run out of this house, they run off of station 3 on Lake St. the squad was running with that spare engine 703. Station 2 has the engine, Squad, and ambo.

The FDNY does take forever. They fart around getting all their gear on or loaded on the truck while yelling at each other about who's first due or second due. Then they meander out front and stand on the sidewalk and wait for the trucks to pull out. They don't display much of a sense of urgency. I don't see the CFD or any other department doing this.

@@scotttiminey The FDNY goes out front of the house to block traffic so they can actually get the fuck out. Several departments do that, though CFD doesn't have to because Chicago doesn't have the same traffic issues as NYC. But none of them run in quarters, none. Also you don't see Chicago showing a sense of urgency, even on scene none of them move any faster than a brisk walk. Again, because you don't run. People have this false notion that firemen need to run all the time or they won't be useful. Running gets people hurt, which is why firemen don't do it. "Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast" is a saying for a reason. Is it even worth mentioning that the FDNY meets or exceeds the NFPA nationally set time of 5 minutes for a fire/rescue response? They are on scene at or under 3 minutes regularly.

@@metraforce441 I am guessing, this was recorded on 6/18 or 6/19, where there were 2, 2-11 alarms within half mile, late afternoon. ORD Squad had to take the emergency change of quarters, to backfill the gap caused by the quickly incident escalation. Again, my guess. Not CFD, but I am fairly aware......
