That's what made superdreams smooth, those balance shafts & weights. Balance shaft drive chain might want adjusting. Rode 100,000's of miles on them in the 80's 90's & noughties (4 superdreams in total). Never broke down once in all them decades. Absolute workhorse they are. Where i used to go to the mot with the superdream the tester said every man and his dog had a superdream.

Get some proper shelving, all the same height,floor to ceiling. Buy a proper tool box,better than a tool board! Then chuck out all the rubbish...whats the chair for?
@RyansGarageUK
@RyansGarageUK 13 күн бұрын
Hi, I can't disagree with your suggestion, although I am working on a tight budget so can't afford to simply replace all the shelving and buy a good tool box, I was looking at a few and they cost anywhere between £300 and £3000. The chair is so that I can sit at the desk and work on either producing the content or smaller items that take a long time (such as carbs or electrics). Please remember this is my hobby in my garage at home and not a commercial setup.

Do a little at a time?" Big dug" does cheap good storage systems and they last well. Second hand tool boxs are found on ebay and at autojumbles.

Great work Ryan. You sure you don't want to start a TV channel, a good honest host ?. Looking forward to seeing whats next on the scrambler. Oh and i agree, a good MC lift table would be a priceless addition.

Same LED lights I used in my shed. Just one point on safety, you should have metal clips that will hold the cables up in case of a fire (consult latest regs for exact spacing), this is to reduce the possibility of a fireman getting caught up in wires in a building fire.

Back in the day when i had a total of 4 superdreams that i owned, i did the exactly the same as you, and also i used to press down on the top of the cam chain tensioner blade with a long flat bladed screwdriver, and at the same time tighten the cam chain tensioner lock nut. When pressing down on the cam chain tensioner blade with the screwdriver it has the effect of slightly bowing out the cam chain tensioner blade, giving the camchain a little extra push. It works especially well on superdreams with worn camchains. I did 25,000 miles a year on superdreams with a total of 200,000 miles from 4 superdreams, and never had to replace a cam chain.

Hi Ryan, I'm doing a rebuild of a 1978 CB250T Dream, so I've been watching your series with a lot of interest! When you did the build on yours, did you replace the bushes at the top and bottom of the shocks? I can only seem to find the lower bushes. Also wondering if i should replace the swingarm bushes too, but again cant seem to locate any. Any help would be great!
@RyansGarageUK
@RyansGarageUK 27 күн бұрын
Hi Jamie, i did not need to replace bushes as i inherited multiple sets and they were fine with no signs of movement. If you are struggling to find anything for the 250T, i'd suggest looking up a. Channel called Rusty Wrecks and message Pete, as he is a leading authority on that model. Hope that helps a little. Ryan

For most of your fans around your age have possibly been in your position with where they live, and family always come first , so will understand and know the pain of owning your own home and like myself are going nowhere and really enjoy every episode and how your bikes are progressing, I myself have built my own bike and it takes a lot longer than people realise, unlike you I don't have the knowhow or courage to make a great show like Ryan's Garage and more than happy to wait when you are able to continue, good luck with the new house ,sounds like your going to need it

Looking good Ryan, a tip for you. You appear to have a fairly high ceiling so if you put a big shelf real high up around a couple of sides you can get rid of loads of rubbish that you know you will never use but just might. This will help to keep the floor clear or at least less cluttered.And you won't bang your head on it.

Hi Ryan Another tip I use when spraying a tank Provided its dry and vented of fumes . I use a heat gun on low or a hair dryer to blow hot air into the tank to preheat it take dampness out and help cure the paint
