Why am I here. I was watching timeworks videos and wanted to "know what control characters are in coding" -.- I spend way too much time listening to coding videos I will never understand.

Hi. that looks like Alibre software you use. Which add on is the simulation design? Thanks
@MrBobhuh4 жыл бұрын
Hi John. That is not Alibre. That is my CAM Package, BobCad…. This is a simulation of a CNC Operation....

Bob Thanks for the reply. solved, my machine is too simple for true 4 axis. i have to create a g55 to machine the lower part of the model.
@beegreengrowersunionwv.75235 жыл бұрын
thanks for making the video, would your second ucs be considered g55 in 4 axis? I'm using linux cnc and am having a bear of a time with machine settings and ucs's.
@MrBobhuh5 жыл бұрын
Not really. The "Work coordinates" of the job are just setting something different than the "Machine coordinates".So the stock being worked on is setup at G54. I would think you setup a G55 if you had a large table and needed to "setup multiple stocks" to do different jobs on.The UCS's in this case are just helping define the "indexing rotations" for the post processor to output "A" moves for the 4th.This is an old version of BobCad, so it has different hoops being jumped through to get the output.I don't know your software, etc.... But there should be 1 work coordinate for this piece. AND, your 4th code should be posting from a single UCS. So, a default WCS (Or UCS if you are located away from the WCS) with 4th axis code indexing being output from there.

This is Old BobCad also, so what you see in the video is actually a cheat, and I am rotating my "Geometry" to cut parts of the object. Not the way it "Should" be done. The system should know how to rotate around in the workspace.

hello good video, you know how to use v carving in the v28 version, my machining surpasses my material and I do not know how to solve it. Thank you

is this trajectory one entity as you chained it with one click? Wish Al could see this as he states when all entities lie in the same plane it is a better process

Wow! You make that look easy! Belive me I tried to clean up the edges and erase doubles and it didn't work for me. also I am using V27 too.
What do you charge for a skull? I am interested....

Hi rwhaze, What do you mean.. To make one in metal, or to model one? Are you a machinist? Maybe we could help you cut one...

Thats pretty awesome Mr Burr, As You may have seen me post, I just upgraded to v26 mill pro, 4th standard, I my customer base should not need an object that complicated, But that will be cool to play with, Im assuming that is not 4th pro? I see possibly Z level rough on 2 sides, I do not see any Y movement on the finish pass if im not mistaken? Thanks for sharing...Wayne
@MrBobhuh10 жыл бұрын
Hey Mojave... I'm not sure exactly which cut that was, but as it is now, it's an advanced rough in an index group, then a rotary. Correct, there is no y movement there..I've been speaking with my brother about using some side shift with the rotary path. I think the tool would cut better than using the tip of a ball mill.

I use BobCad in support of my brother who uses BobCad. I made the rhino video to help a guy in the rhino forum... :)
@BRCC100011 жыл бұрын
Hey Burr... As always great video. I do prefer when you narrate them though. So are you going to use Rhino now in place of BobCad?
@MrBobhuh11 жыл бұрын
Hey Wongster. Roughly 1.5 hours for each toolpath. So, 1.5 for first rough, 1.5 for 2nd rough, and 1.5 for finish. basically the better part of a day for us. Running it very slow on old 1/4 hp taig.

Burr, good stuff there! How long did it take to mill this out?

Is that an STL Model in Predator Editor? How were you able to make it rotate?

Try look 1 inch above it. Different people see it going different ways. No, there is no way without asking.

It of course appears to be going clock-wise. Is there a way to really figure it out?

This is version V25, but the sweep and sculpting commands were added in to V24, so it's the same there.

I dont know how to stetch the lathe very hard, to find areas that may affect your work.. If you want to go into one of the forums and present some stuff to look at, I can do that with you.

It looks great so far. Only a couple days into it.. The stock addition is looking like my answer to the 3d toolpaths working with the UCS now.. Havnt taken it out for a stretch yet, but soon. 4th axis and simulation have been upgraded too.. More later.
@BRCC100012 жыл бұрын
Great video Burr as always. Thanks! So how are you liking V25 now?

Be careful, especially of sinusoidal repleneration in the supra... That can really bite you on a long run of inverse reactive current while performing unilateral phase detraction!
@DarrinKing112 жыл бұрын
I have one in my Supra . they are great..:)
@MrBobhuh12 жыл бұрын
Actually made a mistake in this video.. For work offsets, you wouldnt move the geometry, you would just set a work offset in the feature, then the machine work coords for offset "G56" would be of to the side.... Ooops. I did make a video to show changing the UCS to move the stock zero to another area of the workspace though....
