Hi Jan, thanks for the message, we mainly use the strong aluminium step when we are on site or a show for a couple of days, we find it stronger than the fitted step, also we have had previous problems with other vans where the step has got stuck. We think the small amount of extra weight the step weighs out weighs it’s used. Happy motorhoming ❤️🚍
