Why so? Let’s break it down 👇 Sure, ChatGPT might suggest typical L&D skills like facilitation and instructional design. But let’s be real-having those skills alone won’t solve your day-to-day challenges🤷♀️. You could be the best facilitator, but if you’re not creative enough to find the right resources (financial, human, time, etc.), you might struggle to execute your projects successfully. Honestly, I think being resourceful is one of the most important life skills you can develop. I don’t think problem-solving needs explanation as problems will come your way every single day 🙈 If you master your mindset and skills around how you approach and handle challenges coming your way, you’ll not only overcome obstacles but also turn them into opportunities for growth and innovation. And social intelligence? It’s crucial because, no matter the business, we work with people. Understanding how those around you operate-their hidden motives, preferred communication styles, and work preferences-will make you more successful in your role than having multiple certifications or degrees ever could. Need help with your career in learning & development? Feel free to slide into my DMs @liza_stus

Liza, your KZfaq channel has been a gift. I discovered it today, but you can be sure that I'll be doing a "Lizaflix" marathon to watch all your videos and learn a lot from what you have to say. I am Brazilian, and I feel that here in my country we are still a bit behind in these areas. When it comes to L&D/T&D, the focus is still on rigid courses aimed at results, but they forget that employees need to develop their human skills. In the end, it's these skills that keep them active and well within the workplace.

Hi Liza, Thanks for sharing this content! I've recently pivoted my career and this is all very relatable. Small feedback the audio on this content is very low. I do have some construction going on around where I am but I can barely hear the content even though I'm on the max level of sound. Could you please up that in the future content? Thanks

HERE 👋🏼 While there might be an issue with program design or delivery, always keep in mind that people might not be there to receive what you have offered them. Physically, they might be there, but mentally, not. What is in the way? 🧠 Limiting beliefs If the person strongly believes that he or she is not good at something or incapable of doing certain things, the limiting belief needs to change first. 😩 Overwhelm and burn out When people are overworked, do not get enough sleep, and lack proper personal boundaries, their main priority is to address their primary human needs: sleep, food, family, and connection. Remember Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? Self-actualization comes last. 🕰️ Unrealistic expectations People generally want to see fast results, have little patience, and when they see no immediate progress, they give up. 😬 Change avoidance While change is an opportunity for growth and learning, it also brings uncertainty, which can make us feel uneasy or anxious. Think of leaving your comfort zone, fear of the unknown, and fear of failure. 🤫 Quiet Quitting Mode: On Quitting means doing the bare minimum to get paid and not get fired. People have mentally left the job and have close to zero motivation to do it, and you are talking about growth and learning? Maybe they have an issue with their manager and are in the process of having an interview with other companies. What else would you add? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
