Which year do you bend the trunk? This is a very good video. One about kaede maple would be great.
@bonsai-haruyoshi4 сағат бұрын
It's good to bend the trunk when it becomes as thick as a chopstick. Maybe three years old.

Have you black pines always been in small containers? What is your thoughts on growing them in large containers to fatten up the trucks quicker? Thanks! I really enjoy your videos(I’m from California USA) also, I appreciate the English subtitles 👍🏻
@bonsai-haruyoshi2 күн бұрын
If a tree is not planted in an appropriately sized pot, its roots will get cold and it will not grow well. Please take a look at my #125video, in which I explained my thoughts about hou to thichen the trunk.
How old are these black pine you’re working on? Amazing trunks and roots, do you spread the roots radially when they’re seedlings?
@bonsai-haruyoshi4 күн бұрын
I don't remember their age correctly, but maybe 10-12 years old. As for roots, I always treat them properly when I replant them every two years . Please take a closer look at my #125 video.

Hello. Tell me please. If the soil of a nishiki pine does not dry out closer to the tree trunk, should it be watered that day?
@bonsai-haruyoshi8 күн бұрын
Use a chopstick to poke several holes to the pot hole from the base of tha trunk to improve drainage.
@danhip24428 күн бұрын
@@bonsai-haruyoshi Thank you, it seems like this is really the only way, but I doubt that I can do it with a chopstick. The soil is very compact, it looks like garden soil and has never been changed.
@bonsai-haruyoshi7 күн бұрын
@danhip2442 I think it is the best to repot it. But it is not now. Pine trees hate too much water, so be careful with drainage.

Always waiting for your videos about black pine. 👍👍
Thank you for the question. That's because older trees have more branches but less vigor.

Is it ok to only trim gardenias once in the spring right after flowering? I have two that I air-layered and they are doing well. Yours look great! And your pots are beautiful! I’d love to have one or more! Thank you from California USA

Brilliant video, really helpful. Can I ask if when I try 'Hagari' pruning, do I cut the leaf in half leaving some on the tree or do I cut them off please?
@bonsai-haruyoshi28 күн бұрын
I think either is fine. The important thing is to take a good look at the condition of the trees.
