They look very much interesting but what about thickness ? You might be using thinner or thicker wood . Does they have any adjustments ? Also do they have a name for them or brand that I can search . Thanks for sharing

Hello, these are our own Rockler brand under our Clamp-It line of products. they come in either 3/4" or 1/2" sizes. Here is a link to view them on our website. - www.rockler.com/rockler-clamp-it-clips-4-packs - If you are working with material thicknesses other than 3/4" and 1/2" plywood, then something like our Rockler Clamp-It Small Corner Clamping Jig, 2-Pack - www.rockler.com/rockler-clamp-it-small-corner-clamping-jig-2-pack - or our Rockler Clamp-It Assembly Square with Corner Clamping Jig - www.rockler.com/clamp-it-corner-clamping-jig-with-clamp-it-assembly-square - may be better suited for you. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

This pains me to say because I had to say this about a Ryobi product a few weeks ago, but this router table is hot garbage! I bought this table for $124 at Lowes - on sale from $250. I thought I hit the jackpot. What I realize now is that Lowes couldn't give this thing away unless some shcmuck - me - bought it. Well, I'm not a schumk but I am green at wood working and the important lesson I learned today? Steer clear of Kreg products. The clamps to fasten down the fence? Garbage. The instruction book is barely understandable. The packaging had most of the screws and parts in un-marked pouches so you had to almost guess which screw was called for in the instructions. The list goes on. I paid $124 for this item and in my opinion it was over priced by $100.

Of course if this is ONLY designed for Rocker ONLY size carbide cutters, seems it would force you to buy Rockler. Don't really have an issue with that but what if we already own some other brand?
@rockler4 күн бұрын
Our Honing System might work with other brand carbide cutters. However, we can't guarantee it, as cutter sizes differ. If you would like more specifics on the product, please reach out to our product support team at 1-800-260-9663 or [email protected]. They'll be able to assist you. Thanks!

How do you ensure that the saw is at 45 degrees before lifting it into the crosscut sled? Do you remove the sled and test the tilt of the saw, and then lower the blade, and then raise it through the sled?

I had ‘shop’ classes in Jr and Sr high school. I had minimal success in both but what I found was an immediate love of woodworking. For 30+ years I ‘dabbled’ in it till retirement, then the dam burst! For the last 40 years I’ve thrown myself into the ‘hobby’ and became a passable player with some skill so that I can teach grandchildren to appreciate the pieces of wood around them. My Rockler store is 175 miles away from me but I get to it once a year and spend spend spend! Not to mention mail orders too.

This is a really good tutorial on using cope and stick bits. In my shop, I generally use multiple router tables when making raised paneled doors. I set up one for the stick cutter, one for the coping bit and one for the raised panel bit. I also use one with a cutter to eliminate tear out from the stick cutter, this is a prerequisite to the stick cutter and I never cut the stick without it. This is my trade secret.
@MrExamplename5 күн бұрын
Can you explain more about eliminating tear out on stick cuts? Where is the tearout and what bit do you use (and how)? From my limited experience I haven't really had any tearout issues with the long grain cuts.. but definitely have when coping the rails.
@rds3334 күн бұрын
@@MrExamplename First, let me clarify. I also get tear out on my rails. The only way to minimize the tear out is to back it up with a sacrificial piece that is the same thickness as your rails. Also, cut the cope first, then the sticks. Now, what I was talking about the tear out on the stiles or stick pieces, occurs along the edge where the groove is located. This can happen on oak, maple, cherry and other hardwoods. I haven’t had any problems with Poplar. The trick to eliminate the tear out along the edge is to first make a pass with a 1/4 slot cutter that is exactly the same height as the stick cutter, but cuts only about 1/16 of an inch deep. If you look at a stick cutter, you will see it has the groove cutter that is 1/4 wide. With this slight groove, the stile cutter (stick) has nothing to tear out. But this also means that you will need 2 routers tables to do this. The router table I use for the stick cutter also has a Grizzly stock feeder attached to it so I get a continuous clean cut. I’ve been doing this for years. Hope is helps.

Sleds on a table saw are a waste of time, space, and money. Use your miter saw. It is the correct tool for the job.
@rockler9 күн бұрын
If it works, it works. There is no right or wrong in the world of jigs. If it cuts, it's accurate, and it's safe, then it's right. 🙌 Also, there are many that don't have a miter saw and consider them a waste of time, space, and money. Especially if they can do it all on their table saw with a jig that can store on the wall or behind a cabinet. To each their own, and we're here for them all. At the end of the day, if someone did some woodworking, it was a win for us all. 💙

I'm thrilled to see another woman wood worker, and a young one at that. I started over 20 years ago when I was almost as young and it was very daunting. I jumped at the chance to take a class that my city's P&R department offered and got to learn so many fun tools, including the lathe. I built a shed so that I could clear the garage to work. Alas, my husband keeps cramming our garage with crap like boats and cars😏. My proudest piece is the sewing center that my husband was supposed to build when he got laid-off but then his consulting work got in the way LOL. I also made a bed with huge drawers underneath for my daughter. As a woman woodworker the only thing I find harder for me than it is for the guys, so far, is wood splinters 😢 I so enjoyed your video that you have rekindled my woodworking spirit! Now I need to start plotting my garage takeover...

I guess its ok as a one off gift for someone, but at $25 for the ice cream scoop kit , then the material for a handle, then the time in making the handle... I would have to sell an ice cream scoop for $60 to $70. Nobody is gonna do that these days.

I have seen a type of slide where the extension slides out fully and when fully extended drops 1/2" to sit flush with the base. On releasing, it lifts up 1/2" and then can be slid back over the base. What is that type of slide called? PS: this is not for a drawer but for a wooden platform that can extend from 36" to a fully flat 79" when required.

@rockler25 күн бұрын
Yes. A standard brake for a 10" blade will not stop an 8" dado set. The dado brake is needed for the smaller diameter and extra force from the stacked dado set.
