Mount a Kindling Kracker next to the wood supply. Then it will be easy to make some kindlong and get a fire going.

But what about the structural support (diagonal board) he removed at the beginning of the video? That deck is going to rock side to side a lot now. Really bad, and unsafe, to remove that diagonal support board. In my area you’d fail inspection without that, or 45degree supports on each side of each deck post to prevent the deck from rocking side to side. Check with your building code before you attempt that.
@DanielDemir4 күн бұрын
Instead I installed several supports as part of the system
@jeffbren21514 күн бұрын
@DanielDemir So on the legs of the deck, you put 45 degree posts to stop the side to side sway? (Like that 45-degree cross board did?). I love the system, and you did a great job on the video. I'm just trying to solve how to remove that 45-degree board across the bottom of my deck (that was extremely necessary on my deck to stop the side to side motion). I removed the 45-degree posts on the legs of my deck because I kept hitting my head on them. A structural engineer told me the cross board on the bottom (from corner to corner) was a stronger solution. Now, I can't solve how to install an underdeck system with that board in the way.

I made basically the same thing but with rocks, quickrete, duct tape, and some baling wire. Cost me $37 because I repurposed most everything. The rocks came from the back 30 where I have a lot of random rocks. The baling wire came from my old chicken coop that I’m not using anymore. Works perfect too!

And now you roughly know how houses in Europe are built, with less details because you dont want your home to be an oven but building strategy is there.

@DanielDemir You just provided my point. Don't get me wrong, it's fantastic by any standards. But...if you have no experience in building aswell as obviously, no tools, it would be a nightmare.
Oh, too bad you didn't get the correct permit. Now the City says you have to tear it down, then apply for the correct permit.

For the brick dome, what mortar did you use? I am building one from the lowes video and am not sure if I need to get a refractory mortar for the dome. I don't want the dome to explode due to high heat, but would want to avoid spending ~$50 for a bucket if possible.
@DanielDemir6 күн бұрын
Another option is buying some clay and mixing it with masonry mortar mix to create refractory mortar. I understand that it is expensive but you have to use refractory mortar to build a wood fired brick oven.

Hello. I am currently filling my pool (Same model) and the sides are bowing a lot. Similar to the video @ 13:15 minutes. In the diagram you posted it shows that the pool side bars will eventually even out. Only thing- is on mine they bow down. Do I need to take water out and try to fix or is that normal?
@DanielDemir7 күн бұрын
It’s totally normal, it will be fine when you fill it up completely.

solid install doesn't prevent the wood from rotting over time. above the joist system is the best way to go gents don't spend this kind of money to have it all to rot 10-15 years down the road. ABOVE Joist systems....

After filming, I discovered that these weep holes are actually there for a reason - they allow water drainage and ventilation. I realized they were all around the house and should not be completely sealed. For demonstration purposes, I sealed a few of them, but I will use a foam cleaner to remove the sealant immediately. Great catch and thanks for the heads-up!
