It will fail, psp 2 or any handheld game sony does with your bad idea. First of all it should be a stand alone console and have it own exclusive game and library some exclusive aaa ps4 game and ps5 AA game can be add to it library. The console it self should be portable and lite than the steak deck with long battery life because what you're describing is the ps portal

Depending on the game, you might experience lower FPS for example tiny teen Wonderland runs better in Steam West then it does in windows, but it’s never like utterly Game renewing differences and yes, it does have worse battery life but it’s not like the previous battery. Life was amazing so I was just gonna be a little worse. That’s due to windows more extensive background tasks.

This year there are OLED displays on labtop that has VRR like the G16 and Blade 16. I recently picked up the Go again as I returned mine at launch as I felt like it wasn't ready for prime time just yet at their asking price of $750 for the 1TB version. I ended up picking up the 512GB model for only $580 new at BB after PM Amazon. I just ordered a 2TB card for only $95 as well. The total is only going to be $675 and to me it's worth it at a lower price. With the Ally X asking for $800 for faster and more RAM plus a 2x the battery, that's a lot imo. The SD OLED is nice but for me I'm not really chasing that battery life or SteamOS experience. I want Windows as it just runs everything that I need. I'm chasing framerates instead and the Go is powerful enough at this time to run whatever I need. I'm looking forward to the new UI that will be rolling out along with using Lossless Scaling with FG. It's looking pretty good for the Go if you ask me. The Ally is super nice for what it does but I just want a bigger screen period. 8.8" is just perfect as anything beyond this isn't that portable anymore. I'm still planning on upgrading again when the next chipset comes out next year. I will be looking at getting whatever ASUS or Lenovo is doing as I don't want to mess around with what could be a bad experience with all those other devices.

You’re almost right in a lot of areas but For someone like me who was getting their first handheld that’s what made this the best first choice. It can do all systems fine and with comfort! I no longer have to buy 6 devices to play certain consoles. I wanted 3DS and DS and the RP4pro did that poorly since the screen was so tiny. Plus all the cramping is not worth it.

The fact that it does not support VRR is a reason for me to not buy it, cuz I think VRR, in devices like this one, is a must. And that's when the VRR comes in to make a difference.

Not having VRR on the Go isn't that big of a deal cause of the portrait display. This is why we don't see a lot of tearing. Yeah it sucks to have to use V-sync but it's not the end of the world. This is coming from someone that has VRR everything. I got the Ally w/ an XGM as well but I like the Go better overall cause of the bigger screen which is a better display as well. It isn't OLED like all of my TVs but there is nothing wrong with LED still if it's a great display like on the Go.

After 2 years i bought NDS Lite and its great console. Why do I bought both? And why it is worth to buy both? Because of the game library... Its so different here. You have a lot of Nintendo exclusives games on DS, which are very different by PSP ones. DS is more about jumpers and more chill games, but PSP more about fighting games, action and racing games. So everything is about very different game library on these systems. That's why I have both. But if you only can have one.... I would choose PSP because of the emulation of old Nintendo games.

Asus is a huge hardware company while Valve is a much smaller company so they can focus on updating the Steam Deck more than Asus with the Ally. (This is even a bigger problem with Xbox as Microsoft is a huge company with a lot more interest besides gaming.) I'm not trashing the Ally as it's a good handheld but this idea the hardware with the best performance wins is false. Valve continues to update Steam and the Deck on a regular bases. In case you haven't been paying attention recently the top new games sold on Steam have been AA and indy titles. With big developers continue to get lay off people this will open door for indy developers who love games like us to get more support. You are going to see less triple A titles in the near future.
