If you think that’s good, see some videos of Michele Mouton driving the rally Audi on dirt and jumping roads, never takes her foot off the throttle pedal ( Walter wouldn’t drive that type of road). Michele also drove in LeMan 24 hours in a totally women team and won their class. She drove one stage in the race with slicks in the rain and passed nearly all the cars in the race. Which gave the ladies victory. Vive la France . 🇫🇷 Vive la Mouton

THAT's not balls for Walter - i've seen him driving a brand new rebuild S1E2 Pikes Peak with 700hp - it wasn't even a race - it was the show run before a race in 2002 - and Walter hammered the poor car over unpaved and partly muddy "roads" and sideways through hairpin corners as if he'd be needing another 5 seconds to win the world cup - This guy just loves driving - paved roads are kinda "nice to have" for him

Yes in a way, but you need to keep in mind, that the Trans Am Set up, e.g. the awd split between front and rear axl, was totally different to the rally set up. Not to mention the shorter dimension of the Audi S1 Quattro. If you keep this in mind, the demonstration of Walter in Sears Point beomes even more sensationall.

This sound from „small“ 4 cyl engines, natural aspired, are far better than todays cars. Yes eg an A45 AMG can do great with its exhaust. But this air inflow sound is imh more chilling than the modern exhaust sounds. Combined both would be great. Therefore you hear in this video the incoming cars. At todays videos you mostly hear them from behind because the engine is not great sounding just some engendered exhaust sounds are making you turn your head.

Ich hab damals bei Becker Design gearbeitet. Mordsmäßiger Ausbeuterladen, aber was man da alles hautnah im Motorsport erleben konnte war echt geil. Ich weiß noch genau, wie der Calibra-Dummy damals geliefert wurde und Keke Rosberg und sein Kumpel Stephan Becker das Design unter sich ausmachten. War wirklich eine harte, aber auch irgendwie schöne Zeit.
