Idk if the silver one is Silver, White gold or Platinum, but I think that one is the best looking of the 2. Both gorgeous pieces, but I love the black dial paired with the silver case. I think the black dial brings out a lot more detail in the movement as well. I personally feel the black dial is more classy as well yet subtle enough to be worn with jeans and a nice button down shirt. If I was able to afford $166k (in American) I'd be all over this watch which is odd for me to say because I normally don't like Tourbillon watches.

no i am an angleur and that on the side is called the flank and it is a satin finish iether buy hand w abrasive tool or by micromotor and a small diamond tip..it is to create contrast between the vertical surface and the 45 degree polished area.

The movement of the Girrard Perregaux is a Valjoux 23 Martel 146 Movement is the same as a 156, the only difference is the diameter Martel 122 is 12 lines (Was also used as Universal Geneve 281) Martel 136 is 13 lines (Was also used as Universal Geneve 283) Martel 146 is 14 lines (Was also used as Universal Geneve 285) Martel 156 is 15 lines (Was also used as Universal Geneve 287) Martel 166 is 16 lines (Was also used as Universal Geneve 339) This Movements were used by Zenith/Universal Geneve/Jäger Le Coultre/Girrard Perregaux Only the 146 was used by Movado/Zenith after the bought Martel out from Universal Geneve in 1966 Just for your info Lots of storrys could be mentioned about this topic....

GS and ALS all day, every day. Rolex is the Toyota of the luxury watch world with a lot of hype. Well build and reliable but nothing special IMO. Especially when you know that every ALS movement gets the same treatment regardless of caseback.

Rolex was and is just a fashion brand, installing Zenith movementd into a their watch housings. For me much overprized, although it is crafted with some precision. Because of the bad image as „just for posers“, I would not buy a Rolex ever. But some of thier dessins were copied alot.

I still love my LV reverse monogram nkuwan clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
