I just finished Season 4. I agree it went completely off the rails with the genre not being time travel anymore, the humor didn't always land for me and some characters felt unnessessary. BUT there were 3 things that kept me watching Season 4 to the end: 1. I loved the twist on the fairy godmother being a manipulative villain. 2. John Constantine carried every scene he was in 3. I like Neron in the comics and wondered how they'd portray him in the show, and IMO it worked. Mallus felt too much like a cliched demon with horns and stuff to me, but Neron (especially in the finale) was a modern version of Mephisto from Faust, offering you sth in return for your soul like it was just business (in the comics he granted lots of villains greater powers in return for their soul, with his endgoal being to tip the balance of good and evil in his favor). That being said, loved the whole portrayal of demons as "hell mafia" in general. These 3 points aside, it sucked.

Basically I just say that it’s a sports anthem that fails to do what a sports anthem should do which is hype people up. Crush ‘Em lacks a good riff and a sing along chorus that is needed to be a good sports anthem.

Mate, the best thing about seasons 2 and 3 wasn't the fact that it's a superhero show with action. It was the character dynamics and seeing how they grow. Stop acting like the thing that made those seasons good was the action. The show didn't just have a "fun" tone. It could jump from fucking hilarious to pretty dark in an instant. The storytelling is actually pretty good in some parts

Seasons 2 and 3 of Legends was kinda like Doctor Who and Kingdom Hearts. A cast of characters you couldn't help but get invested in. The best villains in the Arrowverse. A story and tone that was all over the fucking place. And the ability to suddenly out of the blue hit you with an emotional suckerpunch that hits way harder than you would have every believed it to. Seasons 2 and 3 are great. Then season 4 came along and sucked major ass and things didn't get much better. Gary (who as already annoying in season 3) is a way bigger character now. Mona is definetely my most hated character in all of tv. I recently rewatched seasons 1-4 and every time Mona appeared i literally just skipped the scene entierly. I just kept thinking that i wished Reverse Flash would come back. Thawne would have killed Mona in an instant just to shut that bitch up. There are some stuff i liked about season 4. Mainly Constantine and Nate's dynamic with his dad, but those storylines should have been the main force of the season. We should have gotten way more time to watch Constantine's guilt over not being able to save everyone. More scenes that show how lonely he really is and how he doesn't think himself worthy of having people in his life. And Nate's storyline with his dad could have been so much better with a few simple changes. Hank should have called Nate "Nathaniel" and "Son" the entier season up until the line "I love you Nate" when Nate dies. They should hint it in a conversation Nate has with a team member earlier on in the season that Nate hates being called "Nathaniel" by his dad. This is a little thing called build up and payoff.

It seems that (at the time) you really want a gritty, serious superhero show. Legends of Tomorrow is not that show, I personally appreciate it for that reason, its allowed to be fun, camp and silly. It allows for new character relationships, we never get to see Arrow be anything but gritty and sad, even though he is more charming in the comics.

This is technically a very old comment, considering when the video was made. The real reason DC's Legends of Tomorrow started sucking: when they turned every episode into a mix of a damned Disney musical and Glee. Unless there's some glee-ish comic book out there, our heroes do not break out into song and dance for no damn reason. I started skipping episodes as soon as the music started, so I (gladly) haven't seen them all. When are producers going to realize that not everybody wants to watch a musical during an action show? For once, I was happy when a good show got cancelled just because of all the Disney crap.

Season 1 was perfect. I absolutely loved it and I think the show should've ended after the final scene of season 1. After hawk man and girl leave, the rest of the legends should've gone their separate ways (return to arrow, flash ect) rex tyler should've never showed up from the future and rip should've left on the wave rider and continue his journey alone, offscreen. That way, this would have left an opening for a legends reunion in a future crossover. People might not agree with me here but in my opinion the show went nowhere but downhill after this season. Season 1 was incredible but almost every other season was just so messy and I couldn't take anything seriously. That's just my view. It would be interesting to know everyone else's opinion on the downfall of the legends of tomorrow in later seasons
