Who cares about running AI. All the power comes from the training data. A $70 kit is going to lose to the $1000000000000 that M$ et al have invested in this scam.

I just cancelled Prime and Netflix, my Netflix monthly subscription had been continuous for about 15 years. But they finally kicked me off their platform by disabling the service when I travel. Well, I can't live with that. I'm just ordered a TV stick, which I'm going to jailbreak and have my way with.

the biggest thing for me is when Upton and the Pi foundation decided to betray the people who made them who they are. if it wasn't for the maker community's blood, sweat, and tears then the raspberry pi would never have become what it is today. how was all of that repaid during the time when people needed distractions the most? they shafted the people and expected everyone to be ok with it... all for greed.

For that price I would just go to the pawn shop and buy a $100-150 laptop. Far more functional and hassle free once you remove bloatware or install Linux.

Funny that dad didn't mention microscope, hot-air nor thermal imager. Maybe that wasn't common in his days?
@Level2JeffКүн бұрын
They spent a lot of time heading out to make 'field' repairs, so they usually had a rolling cart with stuff on it, maybe a scope, soldering gear, and some other test equipment and cables. There was always a heat gun laying around, but hot air rework only got more popular for individual / small shop benches when SMD stuff was more prevalent. Most of my Dad's career they had more through-hole or cabling repairs, not much SMD. And budget usually didn't allow for conveniences like a good microscope or thermal imager, but they did have a plethora of magnifying glasses and lamps with built-in closeup lenses.

QUESTION FROM A cheap NEWBIE!!! Why you can buy a Raspberry Pi Pico for 30-40$ and Arduino Attiny for only 1-2$ ???? Sure, not exactly the same beast, but that's a huge difference in price. Both use the same manufacturing equipment and are old technology.

It's way cheaper to put Kodi on an amazon fire stick than using the new raspberry Pi.

A neat way to control it is the app Kore. Apart from being a remote and stream handler, it can also directly start some some services, such as scraping. And it makes text input easier if not having a keyboard remote.

I don't care about x86 anymore. Windows is now dead, as soon as 10 is cut off next year. 11 cannot be used. It is SPYWARE. So, It's Linux on ARM or RISC from now on. Thank God it caught up in time. That was close to being disastrous.

I think pi got screwed or is screwimg customers with the chip they got. Orange pi 5 is roughly the same price as the rasp pi but it has a built im nvme drive and an 8 core cpu amd a better gpu. If you go raxda 5b then u get the gen 3 pcie nvme slot for 60gbp(70ish usd) same as oramge pi with thw rk3588 chip

Is this available for the Pi5, preferably with a much faster internal switch and SFP+ ports? I imagine this board manufacturer has struggled to sell any because the Pi4 has basically been unavailable for so long.

This seems like a nice combination of price and flexibility, but I've been connecting a PC to my TVs since before smart TVs were a thing. About 15 years ago, I purchased an Acer Aspire Revo R3610. The Revo was a low-powered, inexpensive PC with an HDMI port, and a wireless keyboard, and mouse. It was marketed as a "nettop." I connected it to my 1080P TV and was able to use it to stream Netflix and other services. I've replaced both the TV and the Revo and currently have a much more powerful desktop with 24 TB of storage spread out between three hard drives connected to my 4K TV. This setup wasn't as cheap as a raspberry pie, but it affords me maximum flexibility (I've never encountered a streaming service that couldn't be accessed by a PC ) and expandability. I also have a full-sized keyboard to use to type KZfaq comments.

My father had scsi cards that were internal for PC in the 80's and early 90's too. My dad even used to built power supplies with blueprints.
