Great video, as for the pump I used to use either cheap white mineral oil or cheap vegetable oil for my lubrication of the suction plates without any issues, it worked a treat on my Alvey pump some thirty years ago as we only had the large diameter pumps then, and they were not popular but for yellow tails they were supreme.

@@JohnRitson78 that's why you have arms like popeye now mate I started on the 50mm bore n now get a shivering going down my back thinking about it lol. You been down the river at all john? That fish I lost on Sunday has haunted me all week
@JohnRitson7819 күн бұрын
@@Madmicksoutdooractivities No, not yet on the river, and I am sure you will find that one that got away once more. I am aiming to go before my time off ends, but other tasks have sucked my time away as they do, I will probably focus on the Gelt as I have caught more from that river than the Irthing. Those larger pumps certainly made a man out of you, I would be interested to try the narrow tubed ones as I never hunted blow lug with the larger pump as it would rip them to bits as the suction was too much even when you reduced the plate tension.

No chance mate the bite detection on the greys triplex is probably the best I've ever seen. It's a all round rod.
