I adore "good" Pasta Fagioli... I make mine pretty much like Nick does. I was out to lunch with a friend and we went to an "Italian" restaurant (a chain in the U.S. that is known for very unauthentic Italian dishes) and was VERY disappointed! It was CHILI... they called it Pasta Fagioli, but it was chili with beans and pasta in it! NEVER again!

Perhaps I missed it, but when he took the lobster apart and cut it up, it appears that he did not cut out or remove carefully the digestive sack, which has a very bitter taste. Any Bostonian knows to avoid breaking this when eating a lobster or it will contaminate the body of the lobster and give it a very bitter taste.

I find great pleasure in finding you on KZfaq. I’ve watched you for years on PBS and today a commercial came on with you in it and I realized that I haven’t seen you in a while. That’s when I came on KZfaq and typed in your name and was overjoyed to see that you do have a video on this platform. Now my appetite for your cooking, recipes, and most importantly your storytelling has been satisfied.

Good stuff! I think pasta fagioli for Italians is like American goulash. Cheap filling and if made right is delicious

I buy bone-in pork chops because the bone make the chop more flavorful.
