Could've sworn Fischer played C4 (English opening) to throw off Spassky.

I've always just played against the Bird's opening like a Sicilian. After getting confused, i just stick with my simple and stubborn repertoire 😂

Don't you think that "greek gift" might be referring to the trojan horse? I know that it is accepted that it might come from Greco but I feel like the first option is the one that comes to mind immediately and is generally more cited.

I thought I'd come on here and say that you're great at teaching chess strategy and opening. I'm not too heavily into chess, in fact you're the only real teaching I get, but the videos you've made have helped me climb from 500-600 to ~950, though I now almost exclusively play the Sicilian and Queen's Gambit openings when I get the chance so I should probably brush up on other things 😂 I've used the Queen's pawn opening experience I have to teach myself a lot of London and King's Indian strategy as black, but back to the main point that you're a great teacher of chess and equally good at explaining higher level games to an ameteur like me, and it really helps!

In Minute 26:55 Black cannot castle because the white bishop would call the black king.

18:57 I probably would've played the risky move g4, hoping to trade off the pawn to open the diagonal. If Black plays g6 to defend the pawn, I play Queen to h6 threatening checkmate on g7 with the Bishop on e5. I feel like this line would've at the very least won me a pawn.

@@ASMRChess Also, I can't say it enough, I'd love to see videos about the English and Hippo system, because of how flexible they are (the unique thing is you can choose which side to attack as White or you can adapt as Black and either play a King's Indian or French style game).

EDIT: I checked with a computer, how wrong I was! Apparently the position after Kf8 Qh6+ Ke8 Rxg8+ Kd7 is better for black, and the king is completely safe. On the other hand, my idea Kf6 allowed a simple checkmate in one move: Qe5#. This is why I am not a world champion. 22:47 I believe your move Kf8 is a mistake, and could be met with Qh6+ (Rg7 Qxg7 etc.) Ke8 Rxg8+ etc., winning back a rook after trading two bishops for two pawns (slight material advantage, plus significant attack on black king). I'm not sure about this but I think the winning move would have been Kf6, with the idea that the rook on g8 defends the g5 square which would otherwise be checkmate, the rooks defend each other, Qh6+ can be met with Rg6, and on Qh4+ the black king boldly marches forward to f5, finding safety (yes, the white queen can capture the bishop on e7, but this is not enough to compensate for the material sacrificed). Can anyone confirm this?

My favorite part about this channel is that I normally can come in for the chess and stay for the ASMR. Sometimes a cool chess story with points of interest to learn from accompanied with a soft voice and the clacking of the wood pieces can put me into my night routine. However, some nights, I'm tired. I just want to go to bed. I look for a new video and see ASMR Chess drops something new and a sort of magic happens: I come for the ASMR and stay for the Chess.
