When using Inventor CAM, how can I represent or visualize the machine? Is there an option where I can load machine models that are displayed or should I simply model it in CAD?

Just want to say i followed this step for step with my own drawing and have had great success. Thank you so much for this video. You have opened a new world to my mind. Love from New Zealand.

Would be great to offer some more training on this topic. I maintain an Autodesk Subscription just to use HSMWorks addin for Solidworks. If there are paid versions of training available that would be great.

All these great videos are totally worthless now, because the Fusion360 UI has changed so much. There is no "use g28" selection anymore.....

How were you able to configure your machine during the job set up? (Choosing what machine you're using and then actually setting up that machine in HSM?) Any tips for setting up a lathe in HSM with live tooling as well?

Absolutely brilliant. I have been using the CAM part of Inventors (wrongly) for some time now. I'm hoping you have done one on turning though.

How do we get multiple setup pictures at the top for the initial work coordinates. It seems we need more pictures to show the work offset location (ie where to touch off on the part). What you show, (a picture fore each tool's operation) isn't necessary in most situations.

Today was my first day using Inventor CAM software. I was super confused on how to do some of these things and had no one else that knew how to use it or machine. This videos broke it down and simplified the process. Great video!

Protip: Ingnore the video. Draw a sketch of what you want to machine. Make a planer surface from sketch. Select surface as your model.

I got confused by your explanation of the bottom height offset. I understand the top face of the model is the bottom height of your facing cut but how/why does that have anything to do with defining a stay-out zone down at the soft jaws?

So as of 2021 these Vertigo Technologies clowns are now in liquidation. I've had one of their machines for only 18 months. Whilst the hardware is good the electronic interface has been a constant problem. After multiple promises of a fix I am very angry that they have left us all in the lurch. Typical of this kitchen table crowd.

great presentation, but how about the errors that inventor and also Fusion seem to not be able to solve them in the right way like "Empty Toolpath" , an error that appears for many reasons and default parameters. Also rest machinning air cuts that should strictly depend on ignore cusps parameter, but it isn't in many cases until you constrain it in a boundary...., make no sense. Sometimes the only way to make a good rest machinning op is to increase stock to leave significantly wich is really bad, leaveing to much material in corners for finishing...
