nobody’s gonna read this lol but i need to vent so pls ignore, im currently in grade 11 and in my country grade 11 is not as important as grade 12 but I’ve always been one of, if not the top student of class. buttt, i fell off so bad in grade 11. i was going through a lot emotionally at the beginning of 2023 and my personal life really took a toll on my academic performance. i have my year end finals in like a week and I’m soooo behind like obviously I’m gonna pass but i really wanna end this year with a good score so that I go into grade 12 with a happy mindset. idk why i said all this lmao 😭 i might come back like a month or two later to look back at my progress ig, byeeeeee.

I love every scene with Paris.

Lorelai was never herself when she was together with her mother, and with her father for that matter. She was never as confident, and she never was a different version of herself than the Lorelai that ran away from home, because her parents didn't let her to. In that way, the series was very realistic, because in real life it often stays the same. Despite some moments where she got some approval, as a viewer I stayed constantly aware of how different Lorelai was than her parents, and they could never fully understand her. Main message: find approval within yourself, stop looking for it in your parents.

rory gilmore and spencer hastings truly are the two of the biggest reasons why i have motivation to study <3 and i watch this video whenever i feel like giving up so ty for making it!

I cry a lot with their interactions, I'm only on season 2 but Emily reminds me a lot of my mom who passed away last year and seeing her relationship with Lorelai who is a lot like my sister makes me feel really emotional but comforted. Like I'm watching them fight at the dinner table while I watch them and try to calm them a little (you could say I'm lil like Rory In a sense). It's like I have her with me and makes the show hits harder.

Emily is so abusive and manipulative bc she cares more about image than listening and willing to be flexible about what lorelai or anyone but Richard has to say. That is what I hate about Emily. If she stopped caring about what others think and what miss manners would do, her relationship with lorelai would have been better. I wish she had that evolution sooner. Like misses Kim

Emily and Lorelei's relationship has been the true saving grace of this show in the long run, because unlike Rory who really has fallen the two of them have really grown and, I think, developed a much more mature healthy relationship together. Lorelei never stopped loving her mom, but she needed to go out and find herself, and Emily needed to learn how to love not out of a sense of duty but genuine empathy, and to show it. And the through the full series and the Netflix special they reached that point. Especially with Lorelei now becoming a grandmother herself, I wonder if more traits of Emily will come pouring out. And I would love for Emily to become the grandmother who spoils her great granddaughter.
