Tax your pay tax when you spend tax things you already own tax your land why not add another right? For people making light of this, the top 1% already contribute roughly 43% of all federal income tax revenue and about 22% of all tax revenue for the US. Its called closing a loophole. Theres a reason its called a "backdoor rollover", the roth was meant to be a tax-advantaged way for poor people to save for retirement. The Backdoor lets wealthy people access it and also ignore the annual contribution cap. Do it. Plug that loophole!

In 2023 I contributed bare minimum to my account.. And now I'm looking to max it out before the deadlines are due. So would I fund it from my checking into my Fidelity account and then claim it when I'm filing my taxes, for the tax break? Is that how that works? There's no forms that I would need to fill out.. And with the same go for the Roth IRA as well?
@directedira5 ай бұрын
Hi Christina, that's correct. Your tax return should simply reflect any retirement plan contributions or HSA contributions.

You can withdraw money from Roth at anytime. Penalty free. Look into it.
@directedira5 ай бұрын
@@CIAragDe Roth contributions can be withdrawn anytime tax-free and penalty free. The Roth's investment earnings however, become tax-free and penalty-free once you've reached age 59.5 and have had the Roth IRA seasoned for 5 tax years.
@nfhare224 ай бұрын
@nickzivkovic9129 You can move Roth funds as well, but it makes less to do so, since your Roth contributions can already be removed tax-free and penalty free. Moving pretax money out of a Trad/Sep/Simple/401k to an HSA makes a lot more sense if you have one.
