Why didn’t you use Gardz to prevent any residue wallpaper adhesive tarnishing the finished emulsion.
@Inexteriors7 сағат бұрын
i never new about it then, to be honest i have never had a problem with adhesive residue in 25 years, but if i ever do i know that the guardz will sort it.

Ive just watched one of your videos regarding painting walls after stripping off wall paper, brilliant, ive a couple of questions. 1) what filler would you recommend because the one in the video i watched from 2 years ago is out of stock on Amazon 2) what paint did you use as a base coat before colour coat 3) ive been advised to paint over either all internal painted areas or wall paper using decorator's varnish by polyvine to protect everything because i have 2 sprocker spaniels and a Congo African grey parrot, and due the dogs and parrot it protects all surfaces, my bedroom is 4x4 roughly with door my window is 13ft long and around 3 to 4 ft high Living room 5x4 same size window and door hallway is 6x1 and 6 doors including front door, how much polyvine decorators varnish would you recommend for at least 2 coats over all internal surfaces, Great videos and content will be watching them all for tips and buying the recommendations of tools and equipment 👍
@Inexteriors7 сағат бұрын
You can get the easifill from B&Q. i just used a a decent contract matt to base coat the wall, get 5 lts of varnish to begin with, then if you need more get more, you should only need to varnish walls as woodwork should be wipeable, varnishing wallpaper seems a good idea, never done that myself. Let me know how you get on. Thankyou for watching.

Came across your videos and found them very helpful! I’m currently tackling a small office room in my new house that had wallpaper. I stripped the wallpaper and removed the glue. Now onto sanding and filling blemishes. Any suggestions about whether or not to skim coat the walls for a smoother finish?
@InexteriorsКүн бұрын
maybe fill what you can see then get a coat of paint on to see what it looks like. if you want to fully skim walls with filler is up to you, it depends on the condition of the walll, along with how far you want to go with the prep, also will it make the end result better. or not.

A small silicon spatula is better than filling knives for mixing Steven , the metal filling knives scratch the inside of the bowl and they don't clean out as well after a while whilst a silicon spatula doesn't scratch the surface.

Too many guys I speak to in the merchants and on site don't want to learn, they think their way is the only way but for me, everyday is a school day. There's alot of new tech and tonnes of new products out there, we can't possibly know it all without a little help. 👍

There is a very good video about this on the Skill Builder channel when they head to Dulux HQ. It’s not that one is deliberately worse than the other, they are designed for different markets and levels of proficiency with paint. The retail for example is thicker and designed not to drip everywhere when handled by a DIYer. The fact we have the choice of both is a bonus.

I’ve watched about 2 hours of your videos today. When you cut in do you ever get any halo-ing/striping/goalpost look afterwards? Whether I cut in like you do with a brush only, or do a brush cut in and roll back with a mini roller I quite often get the haloing. I take it that’s just down to my inexperience? Or maybe I’m overloading the brush? Plus the corners, sometimes are very faint.
@Inexteriors17 күн бұрын
Yes i do i depends on what angle you look at it, it also depends on natraul light coming, also keeping a wet edge, but in the summer the cutting in dries before you roll. also its down to the paints aswell. you can buy paints like Johnston's perfect matt that doesn't flash.
