I didn’t realize there was a name for it, but a friend from my Knitting Club was doing a knit 2 purl 2 over an odd number of stitches, and I absolutely love the way it looked.

New knitter, I’m mean VERY new. I like simple, so sequencing sounds like something up my alley. I’m an experienced crocheter, seamstress, embroiderer, but knitting has alluded me up until today. My closest friend was a master knitter and passed away suddenly. After three years her hubby called and asked if I’d like a bin of her favorite yarns. Talk about a huge blessing. Most are hand dyed, hand spun and a lot are sock yarns. I hate crocheted socks so I stood up to my stubborn non knitting self and said, “you’re gonna learn”. I found a KZfaqr teaching long tail casting on, and my journey (finally successful) began. I’ve only finished two projects, but I’m definitely hooked. Funny non accurate pun. Enjoyed your video. I think I understand (after hearing and seeing your description). Thanks for sharing. I feel like the spiral version of sequence knitting would drive me crazy (on my actual legs) due to neuropathy, but in a hat or a flat piece the textures would be awesome. I love experimentation after I master a craft, so once I get there with knitting I see myself doing a deep dive into it!

Yes, I’ve been watching the sequential knitting. I need to start a new thing in my Pinterest because I have everything is multiples of eight multiples of four you know, etc. now I need just to have a sequential knitting file

Mistake stitch ribbing is 'sequence knitting' that a lot of us know - but don't realise is sequence knitting.

Hello 👋, somehow this technic/project came up, when I had no head for knitting..now I want to make a blanket. Watched a lot of videos and searched online…🤪 Your explanation and demonstration is the winner! Thank you soo much. So the little diamonds are 31 stitches and the big one is 61 stitches. You are using single threat stocking yarn (4ply). How did your blanket turn out? Is it ready? Would you recommend single thread, or would you take it double? The blanket would be heavier, but also warmer.. Thank you so much!!! Kindest regards, Silke from Germany
@PurlTogetherКүн бұрын
I'm still working on my blanket. I enjoy the single strand of yarn and would not double it, for my purpose.

I think Stephanie Purl McFee’s one row scarf pattern is sequence knitting too and I believe it is a free pattern.

You've inspired me to give this a try, I'm just about ready to start the Move On cowl by Pariser Landluft (free on Ravelry) and the will modify the cast on stitches so that I can do the continuous knitting and am looking forward to seeing the result!

So glad you put this up! I've recently unpicked the bottom of a cardi and done a wavy rib which sounds like what you're talking about, and it's so pretty I'm intending to match the sleeves. But that will be knitting in the round! I hadn't realised I might have to think!

Besides knitting, I’m also a geek of linguistics. The term “neologism” means a made up word that everyone knows what it means. BAZILLION!
