Hello i have a 1972 pontiac 400 engine on my 1967, will tgis cam fit? Whats the name of it pleeeease, love it!
@RobWhitt93 ай бұрын
This car had the original 400 block so yes this cam will fit your engine as well. I used the comp extreme energy XR288HR. At the time comp was having some lifter failures in Pontiac engines so Kauffman recommended using Lunati roller lifters. I’d recommend Kauffman Racing to you. Jeff is a great guy and his prices are very reasonable. I also installed a ram air oil pump he sold me and an aluminum high flow water pump. I never had any cooling issues even on the hottest days.

Beware of the Paughco frame! I sold my panzer/paughco 0:47 capt america rep’ in 2021 with about 11k miles on it. The frame snapped under the tank In the area of welds where the engine support bracket is after he had put another 600 miles on. Obviously a stress point and area of max flex I would say… a very expensive repair. Chrome to be removed then repaired and painted. All black look nolonger a movie rep.
@RobWhitt97 ай бұрын
I had a Panzer as well, number 46 if you can believe that. I rode it sparingly for a couple years and sold it earlier this year. I tore it apart and added a spool front wheels, shaved sliders and the dog bone riser setup to get it a little closer to the original. I’ve never personally had any troubles, but I’ve had chrome platers tell me that they won’t chrome plate a frame because it affects the integrity which is why you probably had that trouble or the welder was stoned that day. Moving forward I’m going to just nickel plate and buff them. In all honesty these bikes were never meant to ride that much. I’m just glad you weren’t on the bike when it decided to come apart. 🙌

You can look up "glow- jobs" it has a more modern effect with few different color options
@samiam2477 ай бұрын
That's what I'm talking about, clean, none of the modern crap that makes the bike look like s h i t. the only problem and it's a common one, is the paint job, original had more stars and the blue went further down the tank. still, one of the best I've seen.
@RobWhitt97 ай бұрын
You’re spot on. Paughco sells this tank already painted and it doesn’t have as many stars. I’d take it a step further and say the original had a much higher tunnel as well. I believe the fuel flow would be inhibited by the high tunnel and that’s the reason they use this style. I’ve got another painter to attempt a more correct version because it bothers me. I built this bike for a friend and he loves it, but I’m always looking to improve on the next one.

I bought this as a non running basket case. I tore it down, rebuilt the front end, replaced the rusted out gas tank, new wheels and tires, worked on the transmission, rebuilt the carb and corrected some things to get it closer to the movie. Put it all back together and it turned out nice. Fires on one or two kicks so the new owner is very pleased with it. Thanks for the kind words brother.

Could you get in touch with me? I own this car now and am wondering if there is any information available on the restoration and/or the engine build. I took the judge decals off and have no doubt its the exact same car. She sets you back in the seat :)
@RobWhitt99 ай бұрын
What is it you want to know? I spent a ton of money on the car and sold it for nothing like any other old car that I ever owned. Just enjoy all of the blood, sweat and tears I put into it. If you read all of the comments I told others what heads and camshaft it had. Good luck with it, I built you a great GTO to enjoy.

@@RobWhitt9 I also spent a ton of money buying it. Wish I could have bought it direct and we would have both gotten a better deal. All the money is in sales. No doubt you built a badass car and that's why I had to have it! Is there a way we can DM? Thank you for your time!

How much for you to build one Rob absolutely stunning Rob I would be interested in one for my collection cheers kel Davis ,Australia
@RobWhitt98 ай бұрын
It would all depend on exactly what detail you wanted the bike built to. This one had the best of the best parts and engine so you’d be looking at around $40K US in turnkey form. It could be done for less with a stick EVO engine and copycat controls etc. The parts to build these are very scarce today making them much more expensive and difficult, but what an incredible bike once they’re done.

I currently have my personal bike on eBay. If you search for 1991 FXR you can find it. It has a brand new V111 S&S and is one of the nicest ones ever built. I’m trying to get 35K for it if you’re a serious buyer. The one built by Kounts Kustoms was a horrible attempt at a replica. Nothing about it was close to the original and that poor guy got ripped off, but that’s TV for you.
