Really nice hutch! Great home for your rabbits. It’s hard to tell from the video but it looks like the bottom cage wire is on wrong. The smaller dimension wires 1/2” should be on top. 1/2” should be what their feet touch and not the 1”. They can get sore hocks.

How bad is culling? Im 16 have a red rex buck i show through 4H, ive been vegetarian since 13 but open to eating stuff i raise, found the perfect doe and im thinking of buying her and selling the show qualities and then processing the culls

I've watched videos it seems not too brutal but I'd like to hear it from somebody actually doing it
@elderacresАй бұрын
It’s not terrible I use the broom stick method anything that makes it fast, painless, and clean is good. You might not like it at first but do it a few times and you will get used to it. Just stick to knowing that the process is letting you and your family eat something that you know is healthy and had a good life! Nothing you can do for yourself is better than anything in the store!

Do you weigh or just use best judgement for deciding what you want to keep?

@@elderacres I definitely weigh but I keep back like 3 so they have competition over food causes them to eat more (in my belief) lol and sell or process the other 2 around 20 weeks after I decided my keeper

Nice video. We have a similar creek crossing. Our creek goes from bone dry to 8 feet deep during heavy rains. I widened the channel as you have to slow the current down. Having said that with the amount of water born debris evident in your video it will continue to work its magic and want to clog things up. Additionally depending on the velocity of the current it may tend to scour the creek bed along with the stone you put in. It looks like you have plenty of large stones there. You may consider having your contractor pull the 1-1/2 inch back and then dump a quantity of cement block size rocks in the creek bed and along the sides as riprap. He can imbed the larger rocks in the creek bed and then use the smaller stuff to fill in the voids to smooth out the crossing. Its how the romans did it.

That’s how ours is we are lucky if there’s even water 300 days out of the year. We might eventually put a couple 12 inch pipes and concrete over that but for now we are gonna keep it how it is. It has done great with almost an inch of rain. Very little water coming through and no rock has washed and my little neon still makes it haha

Yeah I have thought about it. My backup buck isn’t weighing in good at all. The only problem with that is I plan on keeping a doe out of this liter and I don’t ever want to worry about breeding litter mates.
