This is one of the best PS1-games, I still have it.

I mean if you think about it, Dante having the power to just go kill the final boss super easily whenever he felt like it, even after letting him power up, and choosing not to because he's trying in vain to make the adventure more exciting for himself is kinda meta, because the game is so easy. Is Dante not justified in being bored and arrogant about it being too easy if he's completely right? It's probably not intentional, and it makes the game boring and bad, but it is kinda funny in a meta-narrative context.

Sending a giant mech to take out a group of squatters seems like a bit of overkill to me 😂

I'm pretty sure on some of these weird games you have to actively mess around with a button on your controller to reactivate dualshock

You know I never picked up on this before, but Isidor's aggression in the early campaign is probably the Khorne demon and Sidri already working on him. As a kid playing this, I always thought he was just a dick lol.

LOVED this game!

Metal gear solid 1 and the first 3 syphon filter games were my most played ps1 games. When syphon filter 1-3 was released on the ps store i bought them and can still play them perfectly. I still get that much enjoyment out of them as i did as a kid which is in different contrast to most of the games that get released these days

When I was 13 years old my father bought a ready built pc for me, then he took me to blockbuster to buy some PC games for it. I got StarCraft & Brood war, a duke nukem game I NEVER touched and Warhammer 40,000. Because I had no clue what it was it was SOOO easy to get into the game and the lore was so simple, the grimdark didn't even register with me when I was that young it just all seemed awesome.

Amnesia is a required game to play before making a horror game. If you cut your horror teeth on poppy's playtime, im so sorry.

I'm almost 3 years late to this video, but regarding the music: It isn't a standout soundtrack by any means. Much of it is broadly anxiety-inducing and the tracks largely blend together. There's one exception that I wish you mentioned. You mentioned the Back Hall with the creepy fountain, but after escaping the water monster, this area is serene and well-lit. It's probably the first area in the game that you can truly calm your nerves and mentally rest. The music that plays here is beautiful and it's the one track that I've found myself returning to over the years.

I have so many games for my iPad that are ps2 ports and never play them, I’m glad I watch you, bc the last few days I’ve opened my eyes up to the fact that I have access to some of these such great games you review, and soon enough with emulators working on iPad, I’m hoping Apple will allow a way for JIT to work on iOS, so I can play ps2.

The only thing I find good about *Devil May Cry 2* are the character designs and that of some of the demons/bosses. Dante's look in DMC2 being my favorite ironically despite being THE worst in the entire series. And the music is decent. 😩

Other than Goldeneye, this is the best game.

I only ever played the demo, but LOVED it. I beat the sequel, and found it crazy, crazy boring.

The original intro was soooooooooo much better... I wish they didn't redo it, or at most just AI upscale it. It is worth mentioning that I just really enjoyed making characters and probably spend just as much time as this than I did anything else in this game lol.

When i was a kid i beat this game but god damn i remember how i screamed and got scolded by dying multiple times for almost beating a boss lol it was like dark souls but you had to start from the beginning but fuck there was a cheat? 😅 it made me feel stupid for dying and doing everything again f***

I remember this game. Very esoteric. Good memories. The djinn system (or something like it) needs to be recreated by some of these lazy game developers of today. Watching this video, I'm just reminded of just how unique and engaging that system was. And that was on the GameBoy Adv. Crazy good fun.

I loved SF 1. It was no MGS, but I played the one nearly as much as the other. The taster is one of the all-time best video game weapons weapons ever, and the sequel was ruined by demoting it from default permanent inventory. Also, realizing you could glitch the game in that last level by reaching the rocket launch safe room but really quickly rolling back outside was hilarious. The sequence was scripted, so the rocket fire was harmless. You could run through it and save several seconds off that last time race to the big bad. Oh, who you could, of course, kill by tossing a gas grenade where he would spawn in right before you triggered his intro cinematic. Dang. I haven't seen my SF1 disk in over 20 years. Good memories.

finished this game last night. after only playing both psp games and the new ones its crazy how they had all the iconic elements of the franchise on display within the first hour of gameplay. i really enjoyed this game and was pleasantly surprised about the level of puzzles and intricate level design.

hell yeah it was good. the action was awesome. felt like time crisis at times.

Don't forget to turn off the base defenses when you have Mormon missionaries come over. They can't help you move house if you don't.

i dont get why bond used dvd/cd to hack computer?i know for fact usb drives existed in early 2000 and where considered high tech stuff. and computer what housef nigtfire clearly had usb port,do you really expect such thing to be housed in low tech computer?

My one problem with this game was the water monster was the scariest bit, absolute horror game genius. But, it was in the first half of the game, nothing after that was as intimidating. It shot its fear load a little early
