@@Proviction Thanks! I sawed a GoPro mount in half and JB welded the eyelet part to the chin of my helmet. It’s come off several times in crashes but it’s been pretty sturdy… and since it’s kinda molded to the shape now, it pretty easy to reattach

I've been riding Apex since the mid 90's and still don't have every line mastered. Such a fun trail. I love it because I'm capable of riding the entire thing, but it's close to the limits of my ability. Keeps me on my toes for the entire ride. Just a note for first timers. Bikes are allowed on EVEN days only (the date ends in a even number, so 2,4,6, etc.

If you want to climb and descend, try the Aska and Green Mountain Trail system near Blue Ridge, GA.

I am sorry to say this dude but it looks all the same except a very few exceptions. Same thing, a few jumps, a few burms and thats about it. Is like all the parks in Alabama and North and South Carolina. My preference is the different ones in Vancouver and Squamish. Anyway glad you like them. 🤙

Riding a hardtail single speed, I wrecked hard on the last half mile of P2 the last fall. Broke the rear axle, the tire pulled into the chain stays, and I got slapped to the ground. Managed to reposition the wheel and clamp it well enough to pedal out. I was a bloody mess rolling the gravel road back. I got some grimaced stares from a few hikers, lol. Be safe!

BTW, that trail is no where near as well lit as it is in this video by early/mid summer.

Thank you for NOT adding annoying music in the background. That totally ruins videos. I just don't understand why some do it. I can't watch those.

Thanks for the great sneak peak of Racoon Mnt! Finally a Mtb video featuring a normal personality; neither revved up to 11 to perform for the camera, nor overselling the experience. 👍

Great video without too much yapping! Thanks for letting the trail be the 'star' of the video. GoPros give a very good (but never great) virtual trail experience. Side to side translates perfectly, but hard to get a feel for the extent of ups & downs (jumps, drops, etc.) of the trail. Very helpful when trailing very close behind another rider and keeping them in screen. But I was shocked at how helpful your bike's shadow was at helping illustrate those ups & downs! Guess I'm not use to seeing rides through bald forests on sunny days.

How much psi do you run in front and rear?
@_Aitch_
@_Aitch_ 5 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. It really depends on where/what I’m riding. 22psi front 24psi rear for if I’m riding something loose but not too gnarly. 24psi front 26psi rear if im riding park or chunky rocks (although I went through two rear wheels this summer riding Trestle every weekend at this psi). Will probably bump up to 25-26 front 27-28 rear this year to save my wheels.

Yep- one of the hardest rides I’ve ever done. I went through the gate and road all the way up yellow gap to Laurel Mtn trail. Lots of hike a bike on it too! My ride was in late winter so at least most of the leaves were gone but the tight switch backs got me and I was by myself too. Very spooky at times. Coming down from BRP would be better I think. Be safe!
