Segun cuenta la historia, que en aquella Invasión y Guerra de Estados Unidos contra México que duró dos años, de 1846 a 1848 y en donde perdimos casi la mitad de nuestro territorio, El Batallón de San Patricio (los Irlandeses que se unieron a México para combatir al invasor yanki), y el Batallón de San Blas del Ejército Mexicano, ambos Batallones, fueron los que causaron más bajas a los gringos a lo largo de la guerra, por todo esto, yo no entiendo porque ningún gobierno Mexicano les ha dado la honra que ellos se merecen, por lo menos un desfile anual en recordación de los Irlandeses que dieron su vida por una Patria que no era la suya, y únicamente lo hicieron por un llamado de sus consciencias

You should read The Rage and the Pride (La Rabbia e l'orgoglio) the book released by Oriana Fallaci in 2001. The book accuses the West of being blind to the true threat of Islam, and was written in New York City in the weeks following the September 11 attacks.
