How did I get a 10 on the video and a 2 on the grilling? It’s literally a video of me grilling, lmao! Nah it’s all good man I get it. I have this thing where any time I do a cook where not everything went perfect but the food still came out great I leave the hiccups in the video and talk about what I think I did wrong and how I’ll fix it next time. It keeps things real, and encourages people that are new to the game. Nobody gets it perfect every single time, they just edit that part out. 😉 Thanks for the feedback brother!

If you put your meat on 5 minutes after the coals are lit you are going to over smoke your chicken. Too much smoke fam. I have done it before. Patience with your fire. Let it burn like Ron did. He just needed a lite more charcoal.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you cut off the 3rd section of the wing. More room on the grill & very few people eat them. They're good for stock & dog treats. Dogs never believed the warning about the bones.😂

every try the condiment toum aka Lebanese garlic dip, i use it as a base marinade for meat and veg a lot before i cover the stuff in rub any seasoning. i love to coat asparagus with toum and then bacon wrap them with tooth picks into flat bundles. last time i coated them with some dried harrisa and it turned out really good. another thing i like to do is slice a whole pineapple into around 1 inch discs , like leave the skin on and then coat each side of it with brown and white sugar and a little salt, they carnalize up pretty quick. peaches cut in half work good like that too. I want to try that meat church recipe where the guy stuffs cut in half green bell peppers with sloppy joe meat and cheese and then smokes them on a grill, they looked so good. its supposed to rain here all week :(

You should never start with completely white charcoal it burned it self out
@RonOnTheGrill
@RonOnTheGrill 13 күн бұрын
All charcoal burns itself out sis. Charcoal doesn’t burn forever. As I said in the video the problem was that I had some previously used charcoal in the mix. Charcoal can be re-used but it won’t burn as long or as hot. That was the cause of things cooling off sooner than expected. But as you can see, all it took was a simple adjustment of pushing all the coals to one side and opening the vents to increase the temp and finish off those last few wings. They were great!

Well, most bbqers will tell you to never cook according to time. It’s never that exact, even in the oven inside. The most reliable number you have is internal temperature. Every protein has a minimal safe internal temperature where it’s safe to eat. This is the temperature where any remaining bacteria are killed. For pork that’s 145 degrees. Once you’ve reached that temperature it’s a matter of preference. If you’re smoking low and slow for example, most people want their ribs somewhere around 200 degrees internally. When cooking directly over the coals we don’t expect ribs to be falling off the bone, even if we cook them to 200 degrees internal. So it’s a matter of preference there. When I cook them this way anything over 180 is good. I usually do go to around 200 degrees though. Buy a good instant read thermometer, it’ll be your best friend. I have a link to the one I use in the description. It’s in my amazon store.

I always use my previous charcoal, except I use it as my bottom layer. Then I fill my chimney with new coals to pour over the used coals, which will catch fire and keep it going. Your wings look good, though. From one lefty to another because we're always right😂😂

By the way, I do the same thing when I'm grilling indirect. But when you're grilling directly over the coals-especially covering the whole grill-you need to stick to one layer of charcoal. The more layers you have the more heat they produce.
