Will it work on 10 Mt LED strip light?

Hi, the outputs are 12Vdc with a maximum current capacity of 2 Amps. Please check your LED strip datasheet to confirm if it draws less than 2 Amps. If it is quoted in Watts per metre, then divide that figure by 12 and multiply by 10 to get the total current drawn by your 10 metre strip.

Would there be an issue if we were putting in bulbs that are 40watts? Seeing as the minimum is 50watts?

Unfortunately, the board may not work correctly with a load of less than 50W. We have other models at quasarelectronics.co.uk/Category/kits-modules-sound-to-light-modulators but all of the mains versions will be 50W min.

Hey, i picked up this kit but am confused which way the LEDs go in. The instructions say "LED is inserted so the flat edge on the LED body matches the diagram printed on the board" - However the diagram printed on the board doesnt really make sense to me. There is no flat edge and the print looks nothing like the LED. Any tips appreciated. Cheers

Hi Richard. The flat (negative) side of 3mm LEDs can be difficult to see or is not present. It is not a problem though as you can identify the positive lead of the LED as it's the longer of the two leads. This is illustrated in Step 4 of the assembly instructions supplied with the kit (open up the card that forms the back of the product packaging) or you can view it on our website at quasarelectronics.co.uk/manuals/velleman/manual_mk116.pdf. Hi. Yes, the selected pattern will keep repeating (looping round) over and over until the boards power supply is removed. When power is restored the last pattern will start repeating again. You can also select the number of active channels, so if you only need say 7 channels, you just move a jumper link from the default #10 position to the #7 position. The step speed can also be adjusted using the onboard control knob.

It is both a light organ and a light sequencer. There is an onboard audio microphone pickup allowing it to perform as a light organ and it has a number of pre-programmed light sequences. Please see description above for details. Video demonstrates the light sequencer first and then the light organ.

When you turn off and turn back on, do you have to cycle through all the settings again or does it remember setting last used?

Hi Nick, thanks for your question. The last used lighting effect is saved in non-volatile memory so it automatically starts from the last setting used each time the board is powered up.

I have a question about your 4 relay switch version. I have a system set up where I have a relay switch that will open and close. I would like to make a setup where where my relay switch is connected to your board in such a way that: . When my relay switch closes, your first switch turns on, my relay switch opens and your first switch turns off; then my relay switch closes again, and your second switch turns on, my relay opens and your second relay turns off; and so on.... . In essence, instead of your switches turning on and off by time, they are turned on and off by my relay switch closing and opening. . Can this be done?

Hi Hattie Each output is rated to switch resistive loads of up to 500W (with a minimum load of 50W) so the total for the board is 1,500 Watts.

The board requires a 12Vdc power supply. It can draw up to 5.5 Amps. You would need a large lead acid battery or preferably a mains adapter.
