i think the first one you should point newbies into is always ds1, going back to it after playing the modern games first can be a little disappointing and they might not like it as much

I think that starting with Ds1 is the best because from experienece I have friends who played elden ring and tried getting into ds1 and it was just too jarring of a difference for them and they couldn't get into it like I did which is sad because playing it for the first time was probably the most fun I have ever had in a video game
