It doesn’t look like a wet plate. Have you seen a wet plate?
@JuliePowellPhotos12 күн бұрын
Yes I have seen wetplate, there are varying degrees of what wetplate can look like. Not all of it has big drips and mess. The beauty of digital efex like NIK you can do how however you like.
@jharvell116612 күн бұрын
@@JuliePowellPhotos I don’t know about big drips or mess. But I have never seen a wet plate look like what you did. You might want to really look at a wet plate. Either an ambrotype or a tintype. Look at the backing. Understand a wet plate then recreate it.

Hello, I have renamed folders before without problems, however today I keep getting this message... "the folder could not be renamed or moved"... Any help would be surely welcomed. Thanks in advance. Philip
@JuliePowellPhotosАй бұрын
The only time I have found this problem is while I am importing images, either the folder I am trying to rename or even another. You need to wait for all folders to complete import before trying to rename or move any folder. Was something still importing, building previews or converting to DNG that this probelm happened?
@uptownphotographyАй бұрын
@@JuliePowellPhotos No to your question. No importing or building previews, etc. It is a project I just finished editing a few days ago. I need to rename the folder as I accidentally put the wrong info (the date) and needed to correct it for future reference. I keep getting the "the folder could not be renamed or moved" message no matter how many times I tried and I even rebooted the computer and Lightroom and still will not save. Thanks. Philip

@@uptownphotography Sounds like this one might be for Adobe tech support, as it is not something I am having an issue with. The only time I have ever had that problem is mentioned above. Assuming you are/nt using anything in the name not allowed, but that usually gives a different msg. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Have you tried again since?

@@JuliePowellPhotos I visited your webpage - some of the best work I have seen. I am a pro too, over 35 years in the game, now sort of semi retired here in the UK. A trustee of an arts and crafts centre has asked me to set up a teaching academy in a lovely old manor house called Kingshill House in the Cotswolds and I am still in the "do I, or don't I?" stage, so I was exploring what others around the globe are teaching. Hello Julie. Great results. I've been looking for a penlight, for light painting. However most of the ones I see have a very wide been. And very few allow filling the light . Do you have a suggestion ? Alternatively, Does this one really compensate for the price of the kit? I mean does it really increase control ? One last: do you use an app to monitor the advancement of the light painting, or do you just feel through it? Or possibly, do you stack images for the different areas lit separately? Since you mentioned an Nd filter I wonder if I have been going for "too short" exposures , making things much harder and every mistake more pronounced. Thank you and cheers from France.

I REALLY wanted to like Photolab 7, but one major drawback is that it will NOT read DNG photos from my Samsung Galaxy S20+. JPEG's obviously, no problem, but the DNG files, no way.
@JuliePowellPhotos2 ай бұрын
Sadly there are a number of phones DXO does not support that create DNG files. It has been requested to the team to address this, but it's unknown at this stage if that will happen or not. So the only option is to use JPGs - sorry. Otherwise its still a great program for raw files.

Hi Scott, this is PhotolabElite. As I understand it there is more options available in Elite over Essentials. In this link here compares the two...shop.dxo.com/en/dxo-photolab7-essential.html (you'll find a Compare button on the right). I have only really had the Elite so that's what I know, But I do use the colorwheel and Luts etc so I find that helpful

Amazing! You answered my question in less than 2 minutes! I doubt you can answer this, but why is "everything" hidden in Luminar NEO? If not for certain people on KZfaq, I'd never be able to figure out how to do some of what should be the simplest things in this program. Instead of having to load files in one at a time, it would be so much better to have designated folders for each file type for adding in files, or better yet, to have an installer do it for us. There are a lot of good tools in NEO, but it's been a huge disappointment for me. (I absolutely hate the way they disable things if you don't continue to pay for a subscription.)

It depends on if it's a plugin or stand alone. But I think it's just jpg, png or tif. I am currently cannot double check, sorry. How do you find pure raw? I have not used that dxo product as yet?
@edwin_ac4 ай бұрын
My question is actually for stand alone, since I use Luminar Neo in my editing needs (no plugin feature). DXO pure raw is great. I took pictures in low light conditions, at ISO 12800 and DXO Pure Raw was able to deliver clean images. And you can save the edited image to a DNG raw file.
