I understand the worries and controversy, there's no doubt that AI will affect our work opportunities as composers, artists etc. At the same time I see the possibilities of making the films I always dreamed of making. People should understand that AI doesn't remove humans from the process. For example, if I go to Midjourney and put it a prompt, it doesn't come back with a perfect picture ready to be used in video or art. Like a photographer who takes 50 photos to find one good one, you go through a process of rendering images until one or more is acceptable to you. Your artist's eye and imagination sees the potential in that image. Now you need to upscale it. Now you need to take it into Adobe Light Room and work on the lighting and colour. Or you put it in Adobe Photoshop or After Effects and work with the image until it is to your satisfaction. Now you take to an animation software and animate it. Then you take it into Premier Pro or Capcut and cut it with other images that have been through the same process. So let's say they get to the point where one simple prompt will spit out a bunch of possible scenes for a movie that you can choose from. It's still you, your eye, your creativity, your imagination that puts it together in the end. My final word is, I guess... why do we create? Because the act of creation lights us up inside. AI can't take the act of creation away from any of us. Unless we let it.

I was absolutely devastated when the news of sora came, the degree i'm getting right now will be useless because of this tech, my class saw the sora announcement as well, this was a few weeks ago and now 1/4 of the class has disappeared, people are dropping out and a lot of the people still in class aren't as motivated as they used to be.

Thanks for the video. I think it's tremendously exciting, as I see Sora as one day making it possible for any one person to create a film by themselves -- it's not there yet, but surely, at the speed things are going, it will get there. I write novels and chose this medium because it's the best way for me to create my stories and worlds for free and without needing anyone other than me. I think my real love and dream, though, has always been to see my story on screen, but the barriers imposed by the number of people and budgets and production companies and equipment and luck etc etc needed to make a film never made it a possibility for me. It looks like Sora will make this possible, and my mind is blown. Do you not think that the leap AI took to create videos like Sora's is much greater than the leap needed to imitate actors' emotions and ensuring consistency and everything else which is lacking right now to make a film by yourself?

Ask ChatGPT and Sora for a collab to solve the overpopulation problem in relation to climate change.
