Regarding the summer Prismatic reflection - I know it's different to your original design, but have you considered marling the colours with themselves (rather than cream), eg stripe 1: cream + lime, stripe 2: lime + grass, stripe 3: grass + navy ? That way there would be less of a contrast than you'd have if marling cream + navy together.

I prefer the dusty blue whale over the navy. I also love all the cat antics.🐈🐾

I only knit with fingering weight yarns since I mainly knit "summer" tops (I winter in Florida so I no longer experience "winter"). Yes, that means it takes me much longer to knit a tee or sweater but then I'm not needing to complete projects to create content. That's why I track stitches knit instead of projects as no way I can keep up with FOs knit in worsted weight. Similar to you, I used some gifted Rowan Summer Tweed. I hate the top and rarely wear it despite being "summer" yarn. Simply too thick!

Thank you for mentioning needle sizes in cm! 🇨🇦. And thank you for not saying " wip" as if thats a word - drives me crazy. And I agree, that striping combo would lo9k best with an in between blue. Btw, do your cats let you knit? Mine either play with the yarn ir demand my full attention in mt lap si I have to wait till they are sound asleep.

Personally I like the green and navy…. Or the second blue… not sure about the yellow…. But color is very personal

I think your top is pretty and I think maybe after the linen is washed and worn a few times you might like it more…. But time will tell❤ love all you share and your honesty, cause in the end it’s for you and you need to love it

Thank you! I'm also hoping that a few more wears and washes will soften it up, I've heard that linen gets better with time.

Great podcast! Too bad about the green cardigan but that's just the way knitting goes. Have you realized how many ads are in your podcast? That can be annoying when it's such a beautiful podcast in all other respects.

Field day cardigan - the drop shoulder sleeve will not fit right unless there's significant ease over your shoulders. A different construction might be best if you don't want that? :( I love the colour
@meeshyfrazzknits17 сағат бұрын
I agree, and honestly I haven't ripped it out yet for this reason. Technically the size down is the size meant for my bust circumference, though the size I knit to is only 3 inches larger. I'm debating whether that will matter overall, and I haven't decided! Hoping a small break from it will help me figure out what fit I'd prefer.

Ohhhh I can’t wait to see the summer version of your sweater! What difficulty rating would you give the sweater pattern?
@meeshyfrazzknits17 сағат бұрын
Thank you! I'm really liking it so far with the Knitting for Olive. I would rate this pattern firmly as intermediate: the most difficult parts would be the short row section (since you will continue adding increases while working short rows) and then following a chart while working your size (again, based on knowing when and when not to increase). The cable technique is a very simple 2-stitch slipped cable, and they're worked every other row. Otherwise, it's a pretty straight forward raglan. You can always reach out to me with any questions as well 😊

I am sitting here knitting with Zooey right now! You are right, it has a rustic texture, and it has weight because of the linen. Your lacy top is very pretty, but perhaps ypu wuuld like it better in a smooth yarn. I wouldn't tend to use a textured yarn with that sort of lace, as they fight for dominance. The Zooey knits up well for me on a size 5 wooden needle. I'm not getting hand pain and it has some stretch.
@meeshyfrazzknits18 сағат бұрын
That's a good point, this yarn definitely doesn't lend itself to lace knitting, maybe a different knit would feel better. Thanks for the recommendation!

Your cardigan is meant to be an outer layer. What will you be wearing under it. If you make the smaller size will you be able to put the sweater your wearing under the cardigan with enough ease to be comfortable. Just a thought

Hi, the one who knit the strong heel for Siroc socks here! It’s basically a fleegle heel for cuff down socks - if you wanna look it up, iirc fleegle heel is where it all started. It’s great for high arch. Fleegle heel is usually knit for toe up socks. Also, I think KFO Cotton Merino was just relaunched about a month ago and maybe that’s why the colour options were limited…?

Your video came up in my KZfaq feed today when I sat down to work on my Mahina Cardigan and you had my attention as soon as I heard “here in Western Washington.” Wait, what? I live in Western Washington! In addition to loving your broadcast style, it’s so fun to actually recognize the shops, etc you mentioned. As a relatively new knitter, I loved the honesty of your reviews - shoulda, woulda, coulda 😂 and the permission I now feel to NOT love something I knit. So, greetings from Kirkland, and your newest fan! PS, definitely donate the blue/red striped sweater. Your other sweaters are darling on you, but that one? I agree, it’s not as flattering as the others.

that is so cool story about your cats. my story with cats is... i fell in love with a 5 month old kitten (boy)that was bonded with his 2 y.o. brother (they were rescued wild cats) the kitten was awesome. So we foster a litter of 3kittens (8 week old wild rescued) and kept 2 of them (boy and girl) they survived moving to New Zealand and back to USA. Guantes died very unexpectedly at 10 years and Catito died at 13y.o. lastly Missy died last January, she was 17 y.o I am so envious of people with cats.. I think I need to go and rescue some too.

So happy I stumbled upon your podcast! I love your reviews and your honesty regarding the wool. I couldn’t agree more that the Rowan Felted Tweed is scratchy. Sandnes Garn Line and Tynn Line are excellent choices for summer tops. The Line is worsted and Tynn Line is fingering. I have knit the Anker in Line and Yume and Knus Light in the Tynn Line. Tynn Line incredibly light and very wearable even on hot days here on Long Island, NY. Give it a try!

LOVE your cat journey. My partner and I had a similar story. I had recently adopted an older cat m15 and my partner lived separately with a crazy energetic kitten. when we moved in together our eldest wasn’t a fan of the kitten’s energy so naturally we had to get a new kitten to ease the tension and it worked out wonderfully!

Anker tee: I did short rows in the neck band ribbing. Fits really well and looks good. You really don't see the short rows because even with short hair - save a saved head - there is hair back there that mostly covers the short rows. Your cats are adorable! Currently we have only the one cat, a ginger and white girl called Emily. She prefers to be a solo cat so her sister Charlotte (yes, we named them after the Brontë sisters) went to live with our daughter. Emily is an old lady now, and likes to sleep a lot! On the subject of buttons, my favourite place to buy is Textile Garden. They're UK based, but ship worldwide, and are run by Maggie who sources all of the buttons herself. Her collection is amazing, so worth taking a look!

@meeshyfrazzknits8 күн бұрын
When we first brought Tuna home, we gave him his own space for a few days (our guest bedroom) and got him his own toys, litter box, and food/water bowls. Then we let the cats smell/see each other under the door and let them get used to each other's scent. After a couple days, Tuna and Bagel started to paw at each other (playfully, but timidly) under the door. When it felt like they were more comfortable, we allowed them some supervised meeting time to get to see each other, and we had lots of treats and toys for each of them to play with, so they could feel rewarded for spending time together. Luckily they're both very social and playful cats, so that worked out pretty well. Boink was far less interested in going near the door, so personality definitely plays a part! I think the big thing is to just not rush it, and make sure neither one feels threatened. Best of luck with your new kitty!

Ik kijk ook Engelse filmpjes en kan dat ook wel goed volgen, maar ik ben aan het lace breien en dan vind ik een Nederlands wel iets gemakkelijker. Ik zal me ook gaan verdiepen in de community.
