Excellent and interesting interview. Thank you both! And, I believe the story Mr. Spier might be referring to around minute 40 could be the life and career of Richard Rainwater.

I love that valley of despair concept! Most investors [subconsciously] look for reasons to like a new idea, because they really want to find the next 10-100 bagger. Better to try as hard as we can to kill it. The few that survive the valley of despair have real potential.

I was honored to meet Arnold at an event put on by Fairfax Financial. He's a wonderful man who was very gracious in letting a fan boy like me take a photo with him and gave me a book of his favorite quotes and wrote a nice inscription for me. A true gentleman.

Good questions. Mohnish did say several times that he would be comfortable talking about companies (theses) once he no longer holds them. Why not dig into those? I believe there is sea of learning underneath those!
@thewarrenbuffettspreadsheet3 жыл бұрын
I agree. Thats where the learning happens IMO

I like the interviews. I wish he could made talk more about the stocks that he recently sold and tell us what his thesis was and where he did wrong/right etc.. interesting that he is against quantitative stock screens, but still mention looking through the moodys manual. Why not just use a stock screener?

Nothing new there, in one of the previous videos, he already mentioned the best way to own Tencent is through Naspers/Prosus because of the heavy discount to NAV.
