What is the neighborhood like? Is parking in a relatively safe or secure area? I haul my bike in a twelve foot long enclosed trailer and am concerned about leaving my pick-up truck and trailer unattended.

The American road signage is confusing. Is it Yield to Peds, or Peds to Yield? As a foreigner I would read it as Peds to Yield.

Interesting observation. In this case it’s “Yield to Peds.”

If you're actually into cycling, it isn't even in the top 3 best bike paths in Chicago.... Unless you're under the age of 5

Should just be a walking path. The bikes should be confined to surface streets.

Wonderful place to visit, and unwind. A gentle bike ride, not a race track that some prefer. 😊

I Love The 606. There's two 606-esque trails planned for the South Side, one in Englewood and the other in Bronzeville.

Wow a car is so high tech: it's stuck in traffic! A bicycle is low tech moves through traffic and is sustainable transportation! This is a beautiful video. Here in the Bahamas we don't have bike lanes. Therefore I lane-split, sidewalk, side roads. That helps to keep me safe on these narrow roads. I hope to produce some videos of how we do this stuff in the Bahamas. Thank you for this inspirational video!!!

They should connect those buildings on the side. Have little bridges and maybe patios all along it so people can have a pedestrian street connected right to their buildings and businesses. Imagine running a little cafe with a little seated patio area that connects to that path. You'd get hella walk-ins all day long.
@BiologyIsHot
@BiologyIsHot Жыл бұрын
Yeah this would just create a safety issue. Have you ever tried biking somewhere that attracts casual pedestrian activity? Here at least there is nowhere really for people to go but walk down the path. If you add what you are describing you will get a monstrosity like the old bike path by navy Pier. The number of friends I knew who got injured commuting because some tourist decided to randomly run across the path without warning was insane. This path is already dangerous enough for biking with how overcrowded it is with large groups of people walking, dogs, etc. Notice how most of the runners understand that you're supposed to stick to the outer blue edge but none of the walkers do? Now add some family with children grabbing ice cream.

Why are people wearing helmets? Is it that unsafe?
@BiologyIsHot
@BiologyIsHot Жыл бұрын
You should always wear a helmet biking...that's like biking 101. You can always fall and I'd you are going even a little fast you could literally die. Don't be a dumbass.

There is SO MUCH wrong with this infrastructure!!! Too many points of conflict!!! Too many opportunities to get doored!! Too many careless drivers making the bike lane on obstacle rather than a means of passage. I’m SO GLAD Chicago decided to put in protected bike lanes!!
