A european hornet stung me on the arm last Saturday. Today is Wednesday and my arm itches unbelievably where I was stung. It started out as a wimpy sting pain. Within an hour my arm was actually very sore. That night I had take alleve just to sleep it was so uncomfortable. For a day it went between itching and pain. I have never ever had a sting last this long. It kills a paper wasp in lasting pain.

He was never seen again afterwards

Nobody's going to see this but I need to get it out. I was in an Airbnb in Tennessee last year and a spider that looked EXACTLY like this had snuck into the sleeve of my sweater while I was reading on the top bunk of a bunk bed. I only noticed it when I shifted my arm and I crawled out across the palm of my hand. 0 exaggeration - I flung it off of me and literally involuntarily JUMPED off of the top bunk to the ground. My body moved without my control, I was worried I'd break a leg on the way down but I had no control over myself. I had a panic attack immediately. I now have pretty severe arachnophobia and a fear of bugs in general. After looking up the native species of spiders in Tennessee I'm convinced it was a black widow. It looked exactly identical to the pictures. It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that I could've been bitten in the middle of the remote mountains with help a long, long way away.
