Wow! A shirt what the heck. Lol. I have seen trees grow around barbed wire fences and other things like that. Wouldn't want that going through the mill. 😬

@TheRustyGarageandHomestead we have hit nails and it stinks. Especially when you've just put a new blade in. As for your question about the splitters. We rented a splitter last year and it had a lift. What an amazing addition. We want one too eventually! The one we have now doesn't have one either. Definitely tricky with the larger pieces.

I unscrewed the adjuster all the way, and that made levering the assembly out easy. After market kit is cheaper than genuine but they don't look to be equal quality. Stick to genuine parts if you can. Stihl part # 1123-007-1000 (includes a screw and small end cover). Non genuine don't normally include these bits, so be aware. Attaching the dogs does also make a difference - genuine or not they all seem to work.
@TheRustyGarageandHomestead5 сағат бұрын
Hey Bluey, The dogs make a huge difference on the saw for sure. Thats a good idea to unscrew out the adjuster all the way to help. The kit i installed is an OEM Stihl kit. I show the packaging at the 5:29 sec mark. there is also a link in the description to this kit on amazon. Thanks for watching and commenting

That sure looks like a nice kit. For the price of these side x sides, one would hope that the manufacturers would do a better job in the design process so these important components are better protected.

Hi Scooter. I fully agree the manufactures should. The prices of these machines are getting out of hand. if i would of bought mine a few years earlier it was several thousand dollars cheaper. Now there several thousand more than when i bough mine for the same machine.

Good stuff! Log tongs have been around for a long long time. They have even been used in high lead logging with the big towers. If the harder operator is good enough you don't even need anyone out in the brush like choker setters are. Of course that's of he can see. If not there's one guy down in the brush telling the yarder operator when to drop the tongs on the log!

I take it there's a lower strand of wire so you can't drag them thru? Oh, some old American wire, ok At least yours aren't bawling nonstop. If mine aren't actively eating, they're screaming. I've found the only way to keep cows in is keep the barn door closed.😅😅
@TheRustyGarageandHomestead3 күн бұрын
Hey Brandon, Yes that lower bit of wire was smashed down but still off the ground about a foot and a half so I didn't want to cut it. These girls don't have time to bawl when they all act like they are starving lol. I need to build another barn closer to my house. The old barn at my grandparents' house is the only one on the property and it's in a separate pasture. I also need to build a few hooches in some of these pastures just to give these girls some coverage.
