@2:43 "You cry, you cry alone." I've never heard that explained so perfectly. Son House is a true poet.

There's an old man called the Donald That's the old man I don't like, you see What does he care if the world's got troubles? What does he care if the land ain't free? Old man Donald That old man Donald He don't know nuthin' But just keeps lyin' He just keeps stealin' His whole life's been doing what's wrong.

That Professors Hays, Gilbert, Hellerman and Seeger were still at it with a vengeance as late as 1980 was nothing short of answered prayer. We were immeasurably blessed to have had them with us for as long as we did.

I gave him a lift in my car once, at a stringed instrument weekend in Witney, Oxfordshire. Seen him perform 50 years apart, as a teenager in the 70s and a couple of times over the last decade. Great man.

I can’t stop watching this. There’s something eerie, fascinating, and even satisfying about a 1940s deep-voiced western black man singing the Chinese national anthem with very accurate pronunciation.

Sad to see all the great REAL county music singers gone.... gospel songs that mean something and word's you could understood......music that was soothing and inspirational.......George Strait last of the older singers left. Don't know if Alan Jackson still kicking or not....thank God for utube snd and old video....can live with that....
