Hi Nick, I just come across your videos about Algarve. I was thinking to visit Algarve July 27- August 17. I am SOLO traveling. I like to excersize, tennis, swimming, gym running. The flight goes to Faro. What itenaray do you suggest for 3 weeks in Algarve. I want too see as many places beaches tasty food lokal dishes but also to relax and not rush to see all the places My goal is to stay 2-3 days in one place before visiting other.

Thank you for this video. Looks like a great place to unplug and slow down. Any supply issues with electricity (like power outages), internet (slow speeds), or fresh water (are they on well water, desalination or are there pipes connecting to other regions). Just curious - sorry, I'm kinda fascinated with infrastructure ...

Why in quarteria, vilamoura and albuefiera which i appreciate are very small examples is there no information at the actual bus stops ?? I would use the bus in villamoura/quarteria to explore more but it should not be that hard. Why cant a bus stop have a digital sign or written information? googling information is arduous. Spoke with a local the other day and asked about vamus buses to various destinations eg faro/albufeira and they simply said the rarely turn up on time...yes there is bus station at quarteria but.come on digital information bus times and destinations please. Buses to tavira lagos faro and loule are probably possible but information hard to.find. Also why are there no official tourist information offices even in peak season in major tourist towns ? I have been to algarve five times and here at.the moment and like it alot but it shouldn't be so arduous travelling about on public.transport thankfully uber is great 👍 also this sounds crazy but Uber is cheaper than the bus and hiring a non electric bike for going local..mad.
@AlgarveAddicts4 күн бұрын
I agree with you, the buses are tough to understand. Maybe the authorities think it's for locals only and if they catch the bus every day they feel people should know. Whatever the reason is, you're right, it should be improved. How about you build a beautiful new version of www.algarvebus.info ?

it is nice to see your videos with all the nice information about tuna fisherman , the population and visit some of those beautifull places before , i pass a great days this year in vacations in lagoa , armação de pera and poço barreto and i see the beaches with a lot of plastic , rests of cigarrete , botles , etc . , we need to have more respect for the nature !! and the beaches with a lot of algae and some places the sea it is almost covered with algae , the people and the cameras/state needs to act faster with more cleaness especially close to restaurants , coffes where the paper toals , plastic , glass of broken botles goes to nature , so it is a general work and all need to make your own part , nice to see your familly to , all the best .

Wonderful video Nick-as always. We’re familiar with Santa Luzia so always a pleasure to see your perspective-in particular I enjoyed the historical overview. 👍🏻 We passed by Santa Luzia (sadly without stopping) from Tavira on the way to visit Pedras de-El Rei and Praia do Barril-by bus 🚌. {I don’t think I’m the one that insists you can travel by bus but we wanted to see how much we can do from Tavira without a car}. Not having a rental car would limit us to dining in Santa Luzia during midday as the frequency of bus service is rather limited. Of course, we always run out of time so the excellent polvo 🐙 will have to wait for our next trip. Thank you again for your video! 👋🏻
@AlgarveAddicts4 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching as always! What bus info service do you use?
@peterspurway43582 күн бұрын
The bus service from Tavira to Santa Luzia used to be inexpensive, particularly when you could buy a carnet of ten trips for about 14 Euros but it is much much more expensive now and if two of you are traveling there really isn't that much difference between the bus and a shared cab which you can easily pick up from by Tavira Station, for example.

Maybe for holidays, Madeira could be a cool place to visit but for living?, I don't think so, i came form the Caribbean and i can yell you, i have seen amazing natural beauties, the island does not surpass it, is a boring place for living, but if boring is what you are looking for, then this is definitely the place for you. And if you have to work in Madeira, well, it will be also a struggle financially, so, even less fun

@@AlgarveAddicts Hey Nick, Haha, just a personal bugbear. Call me a grumpy old man, I'm sure it fits. Something that I've noticed over the years, people from hot countries (particularly Southern Hemisphere, but not exclusively) who feel that they have the monopoly on what hot is. I checked the weather in SA it was wet and not terribly hot. Just saying. After being repeatedly told how hot it was in Australia, I found myself sat in a restaurant on Sydney harbour at Christmas and given a table cloth to wrap up in cos it was so cold... I can go on. Great show though :) Epic paddle board trip, which island is next?

Another great video, thanks Nick! … would you suggest some parts of Fuseta/ praia de Barril for more or less beginner SUP adventures?…or is there a better place in Algarve as a SUP starting point😅? FYI: you can walk to Barril too, just beside the train there’s a walking path, l did that last summer and it was great… didn’t last long on the beach though as it was a tad windy and over cast 🌬️😂

The biggest thing about SUP is wind, go early in the morning and it's easier to learn. I'd try Portimão Marina, Ferragudo Praia Grande for easy places but it's best to start on a lake if possible.
