I absolutely think so! Because i find that i sign up to compete a 60 cm round and it looks like 80! So training 10cm higher will make a big difference ❤

Yes absolutely it can also give more confidence to both horse and rider when competing ❤

i think definitely for greenies and you/your horses first few times at the level, but if your horse is a packer at like 80 then i don't think there's as much of a need to

like for example in the lead-up to my two shows with dustin, he's a total packer at a fairly low height (although the 2nd show was very filled) so we only raised the fences for a jump school before the second show. but before the show with pippin that i broke my ankle before 😅 we were going to jump some higher fences to get her confidence up as she's still pretty green

I agree and disagree tbh I feel like this is true but there r some exceptions, like if u don’t want to win ribbon and just want to push urself a bit then it can be ok to compete the same level u train and like if ur horse can’t jump high very often so u train low but compete higher otherwise tho I agree

For your information I am not telling you to go jump decent fences every single week. For the people who don’t quite understand the meaning behind this, this technique is super helpful to some because of your already doing that tiny bit bigger than what your intending to compete, it will make the jumps at the competition look a lot small because you and I both know that your home 80 for example isn’t a competition 80.

I agree! The only time I don’t think this is true is when it’s an experienced horse that has retired to one level and can’t jump above that level except for every once and a while ❤
@sasha_horses4life

I can understand the logic behind it, I usually jump 95 and occasionally a meter and compete 80 90 it makes it a lot easier to compete 😂
@WhiskeyBelleJack
@WhiskeyBelleJack Күн бұрын
@@Bluebearseventyes I agree with you! My mare belle doesn’t want to jump over 85 ish anymore but we still compete 80 and I’m not going to put pressure on her to jump 90 when she doesn’t want to and there ain’t any need ❤

This happened to me this year, we were buying a horse of auction (yes ik the risks but we have done it many times before and no problem buut not this time.. they said he was a perfect kids horse, not spooky, mustered cattle used under helicopters, what do we get? The EXACT OPPOSITE, terrified of absolutely everything and was sooooo spooky, tbh i was ready to give up on him, the even lied about his height!! Said he was 15.3hh measured him and only 15.1hh, weve sent him to a trainer and he back doing so much better now, so glad we never fully gave up on him😢
