i had a similar thing this year at a track in Belgium. did some trail braking which ended up in going straight into a gravel trap. the same thing happened to me as what happened to you, reduced speed significantly but the bike just went in all directions and when i almost came to a stop it just went. Did you end up with any injuries or damage to the bike?

I do not comment often and codgers like me seldom dispense advice, but here goes. Reference comments on rear suspension setup. If you were braking hard enough with the front, the back wheel hovers in the air and back brake is ineffective. Sometimes you can have too much bike. With a less powerful bike you could concentrate on braking and cornering and not have to fight the bike. Example I was lapping at 1.10 in the early 1980's on a RD400 with intermediate tyres. Machinery and tyres have moved on a lot since then and I was only a mid field rider. Motocross teaches you a lot and quickly. Your bike has incredible speed. I gave up motorcycling in the mid 80's and have not ridden for 37 years. At 65 I now have my 83rd motorcycle. Unfortunately hyperacusis prohibits me from track days due to the noise, I would love them otherwise. I can hear the bikes at Kirkistown 16 miles away. I have to wear ear defenders to do anything these days. Noise does not equal speed. I am not having a go but if you are not aware of hyperacusis find out and then get the best hearing protection you can get. Still your video brings back fond memories. Thanks

good video but a couple of things stand out....sounds like you're using way too much engine braking and nowhere near enough being hard enough on the front brake...also need to blip the throttle on the downshifts to match the gears.the rider in fishermans..had mirrors..seen you coming...stuck his right leg out to let you know to pass him on that side...(it's a pet hate of mine to be honest..if everyone just stuck to the basic racing line you'd either pass or roll off....mirrors have no place on the track..........curiousity...what was the bike?

Not bad times at all, faster than many track day regulars. Love how you are on the limit and Glenn flies past with only one hand on the bars, he's some talent!

Hi, have you considered having your suspension set up for your weight and ability? I ride a k5 750 and I also suffered rear wheel chatter and lift when hard on the brakes. It was caused by the front being too soft and bottoming out. The forks then rapidly bounce on the bottom-stops and cause the rear end chatter. Adding front preload can reduce the problem but you may need stiffer springs. Adding a slipper clutch will just mask the problem.

mozer30 the bike has been sold now, but I did get the suspension done and exactly as you say it made a world of difference! I changed to a daytona now and really prefer it, I just did a session with Glenn At bishopscourt 2 weeks ago and should have that video uploaded in the next few weeks
