When he was brought back into the fold of the Jedi Order they allowed him to remain unorthodox so long as he didn't teach his views to the jedis students, and I believe he was not allowed to take a Padawan. He argued that the force is not inherently evil or good, it depends on the individual practitioner which determines If their powers are good or bad. Jedi teach that love is a bad emotion to have and that it leads to darkness, Revan argued that love is inherently good. Love turned him from the darkside because of Bastilia, and Bastilia turned back from the dark because she loved Revan. Fast forward thousands of years, Vader sacrificed himself to destroy Palpatine because he loved his son and did not want Luke to die.

You ever hear the tragedy of Darth Weed? I thought not. It's not a story the goody-goodies would tell you. It's a Stoner legend. Darth Weed was a dark stoner so powerful and so wise that he could influence marijuana and cig tubes to create... cig joints. He had such a knowledge of weed that he could actually make up his own ways, do stuff those ways, and make them actually work. The weed side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful that the only thing he was afraid of was losing his weed, which eventually of course he did. Unfortunately, he was discovered to be psychotic, then he got his weed taken from him. Ironic. He could warp his own reality, but not people's views.
