Eh, debatable, Cuneiform is triangles and dashes. Much older? Japanese Kanji stems directly from Chinese logograms which go back some 15 THOUSAND years. Typical old british man If Tom had suggested say, hiragana, then the interesting and older arguments would be more debatable but, more elegant or older than Kanji is asinine.
