Thank you for this Mark. How functional is the rearview mirror when not using the camera? i.e.) Are you now solely reliant on backup cameras to view your rear or is there some semi-reflective coating on the mirror that allows usage of the rearview mirror when the camera is off?

My rule of thumb when adding carbon fiber to a car…if it doesn’t replace a part or sticks on top of the part it “replaces” I don’t install it as it will never look OEM and end up looking tacky. I wish Tesla would have done more carbon fiber accents in the interior as well as an Alcantara headliner in the 2024 M3P.

@@mmark300 "The world's first electric vehicles (EVs) predate gasoline-powered cars, with experimental prototypes emerging in Hungary, the Netherlands, and the UK around the 1830s." Gearing on EVs: Electric motors have essentially the same efficiency at all speeds so gearing just introduces weight, losses, complexity, and cost.
@mmark3004 күн бұрын
@yume8380 I'm talking real EVs, real progress in numbers like Tesla, or Prius has been doing. Comparing, essentially, old experimental electric cars with ICE is not a real comparison. Yeah, gearing sounds bad now, but who knows what the future holds. May not be gearing but some other way to get more speed. And look at the progress in batteries now that we have a massive need and massive potential money to be made.

What about the S Plaid with a track package? Top speed is a bit over 200 mph and it gets to that speed very quickly. The purpose built dragster in this video trapped at a little over 150, about the same as my S Plaid.

YES! Especially from The Netherlands, traffic safety for the bikers! Understand Tesla engineers in Texas have never been on a 'typical' suburban roundabout circumvented by bike paths and pedestrian walkways! You need to properly show intent, direction, and the bikes will see you and anticipate. Imagine: November morn: rain, dark, leaves, mist, no vacations so all going to work or school (no school bus, kids bike!). Seven or twelve roundabouts en route - standard! Bels, horns, busses, sometimes trams, roundabouts with three, four or five exits, or six. Roads are not 'grid' but twirl. An accident is so possible when fast cars do not have 'blind' direction capabilities. Change please! EV owner (Stellantis Opel). Looking forward to at least an option, why opt wheels and not opt ergonomics?? Success Tesla!!
