You won't know how good the repair is until you put the boat through the stress of being used.

Hi. I'm completely new to this sort of stuff so I'm looking for a bit of guidance. I'm interested in the DDM4 V7 Pro, however, I'm unsure if the phosphated barrel is good for hunting. Do you have any issues with it rusting? Do you oil it to keep it from rusting, if yes, how do you go about doing so?
@RWoodOutdoors24 күн бұрын
@@TwizzElishus these high end rifles are pretty rugged. Never had a problem with rust. For a new gun, I will put a light coat of Breakfree CLP on the mechanisms, barrel bore, and barrel exterior. If it gets rained on or dropped in the mud, just clean it off and re-apply Breakfree CLP.
@TwizzElishus24 күн бұрын
@@RWoodOutdoors Thanks for the quick response. How do you oil the barrel exterior? Do you remove the handguard, poke a brush through the mlok slots, or something else?
@RWoodOutdoors23 күн бұрын
@@TwizzElishus No need to remove the handguard. Just a cotton swab on the end of a cleaning rod. Thru thr MLoK slots if you have to.

there are so many variables that you didn't even mention ! what was the size and pitch of the 3 blade prop , and what did you put on it for a 4 blade prop. You could have changed to a different size 3 blade to make a difference. Why did you waste your time doing this ???
@dennisbest4979Ай бұрын
needed to know dia and pitch be fore and after. 5700 to 5400 is 300 rpm, drop a different 4 blade could bring back 5700 rpm. apples to apples rpm then and only then can you compare speed.

I always thought they were bad bait. Just for kicks I used a couple of them bottom fishing. I don't know what ate them, I didn't have big enough gear to handle whatever it was.
@williamyoung7225Ай бұрын
I don't want to do that. I grabbed a hornbelly wrong one time. I don't want to do that again. I'm sure that was nothing compared to a lionfish.

This video is from 5 years ago, so I don't know if you are still monitoring comments. I have the most fun, narrow, and "unstable" pedal kayak Hobie makes. I've NEVER capsized even though I've been in crazy waves while CROSSING the Chesapeake Bay. I love my kayak! I am a skilled sailor, but I don't think my 180 drive Revolution 11 kayak would be a good fit for the sail kit. Plus, I LOVE using my telescoping goofball retrieval tool in the kayak's sail mount as a 12-foot mast to fly the American flag! PS: Great job on the video!

The unit sounds submerged too deep. Bolt your outboard all the way up. I could see it's bolted mostly towards the lowest part. Should get a little better holeshot and maybe even up your pitch on the propeller

Awesome job man. Subscribed. What size hook, leader and main line do you recommend for those size tarpon?
What are your go to conditions for launching from the surf ?
@RWoodOutdoorsАй бұрын
Generally speaking less than 2 ft with an offshore wind preferred. I will kayak out shark baits on pretty rough days when flipping isn't a problem, but don't want to flip with a lot of gear on board.

Look for bait flipping on the surface. Sabiki rig from there.

You should drop the pitch by 3 numbers. That motor doesn't seem happy. I went from a 12 1/2 pitch prop that came with my mercury 25 to a 9 1/2 pitch and my motor now does a great hole shot and is much happier at cruise. Didn't change the top speed at all!

Dude !!!! I have this same 25 hp on my 13 whaler and have trouble getting on plane alone. With a heavy load and passenger I can’t get on plane. I thought about 4 blade prop for torque but ended up learning that I need to keep 3 blade and lower my pitch. 4 blade prop isn’t ganna help out problem. Which btw is the fact the motor is unable to reach its rpm’s and power band in a timely manner. Thank you for the video though. Much appreciated

Hey, thanks! We built this, this weekend in Twin Lakes, CO. We used regular pine and hardware but prepainted everything. Left the two lower supports out to get a lawnmower in. Very strong design, be sure to check level, especially when attaching up tights together. Thanks again.

I've got a 1960 Glasspar Citation with a 1969 Mercury 65hp outboard. I tried a four blade on the recommendation of a local boat propeller shop. My boat couldn't do better than 5mph at full throttle with that thing on. With my three blade props, I do 32 to 34mph.

@RWoodOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Probably will be ok, but depends on how far your drop is. If you are already down 200 yds before the shark picks it up, might be tough to stop a good fish before the bottom of the spool. That being said you don't need to do long drops. Sharks are right in the shorebreak many times.

The scope featured here is a 3x16 Sightron. I never jumped on the LPVO band wagon, and just stick with a regular scope with a big magnification range. Most importantly get something with a parallax adjustment. I have had very expensive scopes that couldn't focus and it drove me nuts.

Thank you for the insight into kayak sailing. My family had a catamaran years ago in Florida and as kid it was alot of fun. As an adult in Knoxville, TN sailing with anything bigger than a kayak is not appealing to me with the average low winds in my area. This looks like a good way to scratch the sailing itch but can double as a simple kayak activity if the weather is not ideal. Also would be easy to take it on the road to better locations.

What’s the pitch????? Props are a science, it’s not just pull a certain pitch three blade and put on a same pitch four blade. Sorry, obviously you don’t know much!! I could write a book here. I studied for years as a marine mechanic about props. This is one of the worst videos I seen. As someone commented here, I guess I stick with my 3 blade. Unbelievable, when you don’t know nothing, why do you think you do, then mess with peoples minds and screw them up??? Just stay away from making videos and stick with what you do know, NOTHING!! Now for me, I built, repaired, raced, studied, anything you can and will do to a prop to make it perform. So please just leave it to the professionals!!!

good comparison i have a 15 foot runabout fibeerglass and i noticed you were doing lower revs with the 4 blade than the 3 and you lost 2mph or 3kmh where i come from which is stuff all so by doing less revs your fuel is extended your engne isnt working as hard but it might take you a few minutes to get to the fishing spot may look into a 4 blade
