Yes, you don't play simple lead and all those ordinary sounds with a Synthi. Synthi cannot be thus predictable.

That's some impressive sampling of Quebeker's accent you got there.

23:25 no, it does NOT use the Korg Hz/V convention. It uses the industry standard 1V/oct. You can interface it to modular gear, Minimoogs etc., but NOT MS-10 etc.

Total newbie here looking for advice 🙏🏻 I need a harmonium for my yoga of sound classes, but I have a bad experience with real harmoniums, they're bulky as well etc.... So I'm looking for an alternative. I am so thrilled I found this video! Could someone pretty please tell/recommend me what to look for when choosing the keyboard? Any particular brand? Any specifications I should be aware of? Thank you in advance for your help! 🙏🏻

now I think if you bring this series style of making songs back (which I hope you do) You need to make a beat for a song called "Not It"

Thank you! Been trying to understand MIDI to CV converters and you are the first person I found actually explain it thoroughly. Do you happen to know if there are any MIDI to CV converters that allow for more than 8 channels?

What are your thoughts on the Grandmother after all these years? For me, the design is close to perfect. Just the right amount of controls for what you need, without any excess. Beautiful sound and ergonomically laid out design in my book!

At last....someone talking sense :). I have one ick ...to me the top connections are where things "come in"....so should be called INS....and the bottom connections are where things "go out", so should be called OUTS. That makes more sense to me because its the POV of the patchbay itself. Is it just me that thinks like that :)

Ive almost hit the buy button on multille Moog's over the years and idk whats made me hesitate but i finally got a great deal on a grandmother noir. Ive had a concept shoegaze-y solo project for years and as ive moved away from making other styles and focus more on this, ive been brainstorming and experimenting on blurring the lines between synthesis and a huge pedal board for my guitars and making a hybrid shoegaze style....i contemplated long and hard over what mono i want next versus whats going to give me best what i need in my budget. Always curious about this synth since its debut. Got one. I think i made a good choice with how deep it goes with modular or other semi mod synths.

Aside from the QC issues these had, the design is otherwise close to perfect imo. When a synthesizer has as an amazing sound and parsimonious layout like this it's a real killer. Love the beautifully spaced out controls with nothing feeling cramped. Moog gave just as many controls/features as necessary to make a complete synthesizer, with nothing extra. That's why I go to the Grandmother if I need to dial in a quick patch of any kind. Very easy to do
