I remember way back in 1978 live telecast pinerform ang awit na ito during the 1st Metro Manila Popular Music Festival. Isa ito sa mga entry’s sa contest. Ang daming kalabang mga bigating singers during that competition. Andon di Freddie Aguilar, Hajji Alejandro, Celeste Legaspi, Maricris Vermont, Anthony Castelo. Napaka excited naming lahat na nanonood sa TV during that evening. Maraming tao ang nag e expect na si Freddie ang mananalong first place winner pero to the big shock of everybody ay ni isang place like second or third place man lang ay walang nakuha si Ka Freddie. Kami ini expect namin sa siya (ka freddie) ang mananalo at itong song na ito (suerte suerte lang) ay makakakuha ng second place. Lahat kami dismayado sa resulta, pero tanggap naman namin na iyong awit ni Hajji Alejandro ang nanalong first placer. Ok din naman at ang galing din kasi ni Hajji. (Kasi rin naman during that time ay ang pogi at kilabot ng mga kolehiyala iyong si Hajji. Samantalang si Ka Freddie during the competition ay mahaba ang buhok at walang appeal. Pero hala ka, hinde nga nanalo si ka freddie pero iyong awit niyang “Anak” ay naging big hit hinde lang sa Pilipinas kundi pati na rin sa buong mundo. Kahit nga mga Europeans ay gustong gusto ang song na iyon. At kahit nagkaroon pa iyon ng translation later on ay may gusto pa rin nilang pakinggang iyong original tagalog version si ka freddie). Hays, gone are the days/decades when we had excellent best quality of music.

Ang galing. Akala ko so Regine Velasquez yung original. Version ni Basil Valdez, nakaka-relax. Like, he sings with so much heart, that it sounds romantic and uplifting at the same time. Yung kay Regine Velasquez, nakakaiyak kasi emotional yung portrayal at pagbirit. Gusto ko sila pareho, di ako makapili ng paboritong version! ❤❤❤
