Thank you for this. I have never really had big dreams for my life, about my career, or about the amount of money I want to make, or big accomplishments, but I have always wanted to be a wife, to own my own home, maybe start a family one day, and live a simple life, and travel here and there. I sometimes feel self-conscious about it, because in America, we are “supposed to want more”. It seems like we are supposed to be constantly working toward our lofty goals, and be hustling, but that’s just not me. I would prefer a quiet, simple, but fulfilling life. I needed this video.

@@annathompson3034 it definitely is easy to feel self-conscious about it. Especially in American culture. Hopefully this video was an encouragement to you to stay true to your simple dreams 🫶🏻

What a sweet little tradition. Had never heard of it before! Think I'd put in Elisabeth Elliot's book, Let me Be A Woman in mine. Was her gift that she had written for her daughter Valerie when she got married 🙂Also maybe some cast iron skillets/cookware.

What a gift! I love the thoughtful items you’ve gotten. I’m 66 and my mom gave my sister and me kitchen items and a cookbook. I still have my Good Housekeeping cookbook. I haven’t heard “hope chest” since I was a teen. About 20 years ago my mom gave me her mother’s Lane cedar chest. Dated 1954, original paperwork with it, along with the advertisement picture you showed. The best part, filled with wonderful crocheted and hand embroidered items my grandmother made. Also the top of a quilt which my husband’s 2nd cousin finished for us. So both of our families talents in one quilt❤ Thank you for sharing your beautiful hope chest, God bless you.

@@dcpru3815 what a special quilt that is! I’m trying to find any family quilts to add to my hope chest but I do have a crocheted blanket made by my great grandmother. I found out about hope chests through a homesteading channel I watch but I never knew of them until recently. I just knew I wanted to have one of my own! I think it’s sad that this tradition wasn’t really carried through generations so I’m excited to bring it back to my family. My chest is almost full so I think I will be doing an updated hope chest tour with all the little items I’ve added since I’ve gotten it! This is a very special gift indeed 🤍

I agree with what you said about supporting women no matter their choice! As someone who has lived in multiple cities and experienced a booming career life, I am now transitioning into other dreams like wanting a family :) It is nice that we can all support each other no matter the season!

Thanks for your video. I am so inspired by you leaving social media for a while at least. I have tried doing that SO many times but I always fail. My problem is I watch a lot of bible journaling videos and I always want the Bibles that others have instead of being content with what I have. It's actually really bad and it's gotten way out of hand and the only thing I can think of is deleting social media, but I am so weak and I've been praying. But I want to keep trying.

@@Marissa-jq9zd it is definitely really hard! I like to stay plugged in and watch all the videos too. Especially being creative it’s nice to be inspired by others and see what they do but sometimes it’s even beneficial for our creativity to step away for a bit! I use to be very into journaling and I would have to take steps back and that always helped me hone my own style and made me have to brainstorm ideas for myself. Stay encouraged! Maybe find a friend that will do at least a month social media fast with you and keep one another accountable! Things like this are always easier with community 😊🤍

I take it as a sign from the Lord that that isn’t how he intends for a relationship to come into my life. Just as Christ loves and pursues His church, so will a man love and pursue his wife 🤍

modesty is not just about the style of clothing but more so about our state of mind. the shows that we watch, the materials that we read.. the thoughts that we think. are they pleasing to the Lord? or is it hindering our walk with Him? we must always remember that a little leaven, leavens the whole lump. 🤍

I was convicted to dtess modest and to also start veiling. It was honestly been a blessing. I would stress about what my hairstyle and outfit but now i just throw on a skirt and jacket😂 i love modesty and i hope to one day wear the niqab (in a Christian way)
