5mp is best 8mp is overkill the frames are too choppy unless you got 8mp cameras already installed it's not worth it for normal regular homes, 5mp does the job, the problem is the dvr is the main issues 5mp lite and 8mp lite is so misleading they both 2.5 mega pixel and 4 mega pixel output, i cant find any dvr that does true 3k and 4k dvr system

Hi Is there any really difference in quality using a POC system to a POE system ? I understand POC system is used for longer distances & can be cheaper in price but for home use is there any advantages or disadvantages would like to see a video on this please thanks
@harrysolutionsltd72542 ай бұрын
This is coming up in a video soon.. but for now the main difference is the frames per second. This is how smooth a video is - the higher the FPS the more fluid an object will move through the footage. IP or POE cameras can capture video in much higher FPS than POC or TVI cameras. hope this helps...

Hi. I have the DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL (panoramic with dual 4mm lens) and find myself in a situation where I require a bit more viewing height for one of the camera locations and it seems that only the 6MP version (DS-2CD2367G2P-LSU/SL) comes with the 2.8mm lens option but it's also in a different viewing resolution (narrower but taler). Do you have an image comparison of the 8MP vs 6MP image quality and formats?

The number plate should be checked after turning on the headlights of the vehicle at night.

Can you explain how you do the change to 5mp through ptz setting I think you said???? What dvr are you using too????
@harrysolutionsltd72545 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment - To enter the 'secret menu' > using a mouse and screen connected to the DVR > find the camera you'd like to adjust through live view > select the PTZ controls from the bottom tool bar > (a panel will open at the side) find 'iris +' and click it once > this will open the menu over the top of the live camera > using the up, down, left and right navigate the menu and adjust settings > to enter a menu use 'iris +' and to go back to the previous menu scroll to 'back' and use 'iris +' again > once you've finished make sure to scroll to 'save and exit' and again use 'iris +' to confirm. Let me know how you get on! We have a couple of DVR's in the shop but the main two are - IDS-7204HUHI-M1/P and IDS‑7204HTHI‑M1/P

This is still very grey - so if a neighbour is shown on your camera walking down a path they have the right to view and have the footage deleted ? I know it's easier to talk things through but still seems quite vague
@harrysolutionsltd72545 ай бұрын
Its a great question - I think what Sian is trying to explain is the rules on domestic CCTV are governed by the ICO and the data protection act. So essentially you'd have to comply with those rules. Meaning if you caught a neighbour on your CCTV and they requested the footage you would have to provide this and delete (upon request). They can't storm into your property and demand to look at your CCTV and the only routine they can take if you decline is to raise a compliant through the ICO.

@@harrysolutionsltd7254 I use a Vista Diamond4K, capable of up to 8MP HDTVI .. but not these cameras. You can't even view at 4MP with them because of the daft forced aspect ratio, out the box they need to be set at 1080p so we get a chance at menu adjustments.

isn't it more of an issue with the frame rates of the recorder than the cameras, as these are generally lower than the camera can achieve?
@harrysolutionsltd72546 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment - You’re absolutely right, the recorders do restrict the frame rates for these cameras on playback but it wouldn’t be a huge amount different from what the camera can achieve
