Thanks for your work in documenting this spectacular place! I recently visited the MPM myself for the first time, and like you, I'm interested in helping to document it before it's gone. I spent five full days in there taking photos of every panel of every exhibit (including the accompanying text) and I'm working on getting them organized into what will hopefully be a permanent virtual archive of the museum once it's gone. (Don't think i'm allowed to post links in youtube comments, but it's on flickr) Anyway, I wanted to reach out because unfortunately, I arrived too late to capture some of the museum's most iconic exhibits, which have already been removed. I was wondering if you'd be willing to let me use a screenshot from your video to fill in one of the gaps in what I was able to capture? In particular, I am referring to the wall of Navajo rugs seen at 37:25 in your video. Haven't been able to find any other images of that online. But with your permission I would like to add it to the "Southwestern" album and of course I will give you appropriate credit!

I like both Ho and OO train sets, and they are the same with the tracks.

Don't forget that the Lionel OO Gauge Hudson runs on 19mm gauge tracks and is not compatiable with HO 16.5mm gauge tracks. The only track systems it will run on is the 19mm bakelite roadbed original, gargraves OO gauge track, or On3 gauge track.

I didn't go to Mad City this year, but now I wish I did. I went there a couple of years ago. Just didn't have the money this year, hopefully I see them next time I go. When I have gauge 1 replicas, I'd love to display them at shows as well.

2:45 At least more accurate to Seasons 6-7 and the HiT era. The other Thomas model has a more Season 5 shade of blue.
@AndyMicoley1995Ай бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out. I looked at the episode a "A Better View for Gordon" and the paint colors are more accurate to season 5 than I thought originally. Maybe it was the lighting that tricked me. I said "seasons 8 to 11" to be on the safe side as I think seasons 6 and 7 are the "muddy middle."

For “train set” track, I have used Bachmann EZ track. For my HO scale layout, most of it is Atlas Code 83. The code is the height of the rail. .083” tall. I have one Peco curved Switch/turnout that is Code 100. 0.100” tall since that piece doesn’t come in code 83. I used track sections and flex track. There are plenty of other manufacturers like Walthers and Micro Engineering.

The humming is not interference. It is the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) that the controller uses to control the motor in the train. Basically the same method a digital decoder uses to control the motor. The controller is better than the previous pure analogue controllers. You do not get any humming from the Bachmann controller, because it is pure analogue. I agree, there are better controllers out there, both PWM controllers and analog controllers.

Is the track that smooth or does that camera have a steadi-cam type feature?

Wait do gauge one models fit on g scale track?
@AndyMicoley19952 ай бұрын
Yes
@GothRailfan22 күн бұрын
Yes, but I would prefer to use fine scale rails for gauge 1 models, rather than G scale track as that track has rails that are a little thicker. But they will still work. Fine scale rails are closer to actual railway track.

OO used to be common in the states, but it was a different track gauge than HO. HO won out over OO in the 1940s, and today there are very, VERY few people who still model American OO gauge
